Awrite, back from the long weekend. Lets see some admits this week. C'mon CBS c'mon! Call me!!

When did you go complete?

I went complete on 11/15. For most people, it is taking 2-3 weeks to get a result, things might have slowed down a bit due to the long weekend.

Will I get an email notification when my interviewer submits the report and my status goes complete?
Yes you will. With the typical subject: "Your Columbia Business School Application Status"

... it took me 8 days post interview to go "Complete". When my application status changed to "Complete", I emailed my interviewer simply to thank him again for interviewing me and to let him know that CBS just notified me that they received his comments. He quickly replied and seemed surprised it took so long for CBS to incorporate his comments because he told me that he submitted them the following day. Thus CBS took 7 days to change my status.

I am sure that I am the exception and not the rule, but don't freak out if it takes a few days.

Best of luck to everyone. I am in week one of waiting to hear from the ADCOM.

Interviewers have 2 weeks to submit the feedback before the adcom starts emailing them for it. I'd recommend you wait till it is 2 weeks from the interview date and send a mail to adcom if the status hasn't changed by then.

With all due respect to the person who suggested waiting 2 weeks, I do not feel that you should wait. When I was 7 days out from my interview without having my status change, I called CBS. There is a phone number on the interview site (not the ApplyNow site) that is specifically for the interview portion of the application. I believe it is called the Alumni Ambassador program. When I called, I spoke with someone at CBS who told me that I was correct to call and that the typical submission time is 2 days. She told me that she would see if my info had been submitted and if it had not, she would send a reminder to my interviewer. She called me back the next day and told me that the info had been submitted but my status simply had not changed yet.

The only reason I am disagreeing with the other contributor is not because I am an expert in the CBS application process - it is because I spoke with someone at CBS who specifically told me that I should have called.

I was going by the CBS website which states that "If you are invited to interview, within two weeks following the interview your interviewer will submit a report to the Admissions Office."

However, your information is probably more relevant since you directly talked to someone at CBS. Thanks for correcting me.

Different people in admissions may have different answers to this. If you're comfortable reaching out to your interviewer (good connection during interview), it certainly won't heart to reach out.

This questions was asked in the "Ask CBS" thread. This was the Adcomm's reply:

Hi Matt,

Thank you for being on this forum and offering friendly Q&A. I am sure everyone here greatly appreciates this.

I am an international J-term applicant. I had my alumni interview ~1.5 weeks ago and have not had an update on my application status since. From reading on this forum, I have learned that most people proceed from the actual interview to "interview complete" status within a couple days. Is there anything I can/should do in my situation?

Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon!

Hi bryroro - This means we are waiting for your interviewer to submit their interview report. We are in contact with interviewers regarding this, so you do not need to take any further action at this time.

Good luck!

Hi GMAT Club Members,

Just wondering if Columbia offers on-campus interview options? It seems that this year they are only doing off-campus interviews conducted by alums. Can someone please confirm this is true? Thanks.

Yes, I can confirm this...I asked the adcom this earlier in the process.

They only offer interviews with alum. If an alum is not available, your only other option is a phone interview with a current student.

I've heard this also. But, I was at the admissions office a few weeks ago on a Saturday to get some information. I had to wait because they only had only person there and he was conducting an interview. They prob strongly prefer that you interview with an alum, but seems like anything is possible

I originally couldn't find an alum in my city to interview with so I asked admissions if I could come to NY to interview on campus because I would prefer an in-person interview to one over the phone. They responded by saying that even if I came to NYC i'd still have to find a local alum to interview with off campus because they dont grant on campus interviews.

This was in August though. Maybe things have changes.

I would agree. Don't hesitate to call if you feel like there's any hiccups in your app process. Since it's rolling admission and there's no set deadline, it's to your benefit to get everything done sooner rather than later.

Best of luck to all who are waiting for an interview or decision.
