Have candidates been notified that they're on the shortlist of fellowships?

Some have been notified, but not necessarily all who will be receiving scholarships have been notified that they are being considered on some sort of "short list." Don't sweat it if you haven't been notified.

Dear all,

I was contacted by the admission services and was asked if I had any interest for the EMBA Program.
I however applied to the FT MBA Program. Is that a good sign? Bad sign?
I have a limited knowledge of this alternative and have to start my due dil.
Will it be damageable to my application if I refuse the EMBA ?

Best,

Thanks a lot for any type of feedback on this !

I don't think this is a bad sign - If they weren't interested in your profile why would they ask you to apply to EMBA?

CBS MBA has 3-7 years of work experience (Mid 80%)

I believe your work experience (more than 7 years?) , along with your post-MBA goals, makes you a better fit for the Executive programme. M personal view is -If you REALLY want Columbia, I think you should consider this option.
I don’t want to draw any conclusions on what happens if you stick to MBA only. It makes sense to ask to Admission Consultants on this forum.

But overall, I wouldn’t read this as a bad sign.

Good Luck!

ClarkQuant:

It looks like they've done this in the past: calling-all-2012-columbia-gsb-applicants-113136-2300.html#p1005130

I think in other years they even spoke with applicants on the phone to try and convince them to do EMBA. I think it might be in the '09 or '10 thread where they asked an applicant if they'd consider EMBA, and then they responded that they really felt that the FT MBA was the best fit for them admissions admitted them right then and there.

I would say take the email as a good sign, consider what they're saying, do some soul searching, and let them know what you feel the best program for you will be. I would strongly suggest NOT saying that the EMBA is a better fit because you think it will help you get in. Just be honest and things will work out for the best.

This would seem, however, to be a good sign -- best of luck!!!

Congrats! Just an FYI--they don't offer on-campus interviews. You have to interview with an alum from your city.

I didn't see there is a "Under review" date when I check my application on their Website.
Where do you see that?

Thanks

Wahoo! Just got an interview. Any idea what the acceptance % is for people that get interviewed? Any tips for the interview? I had given up so was very surprised.

Congrats to those who got invites.

I have a question: after you got invitation, does the status in your application page change to invited? or still showing submitted/under review?

Thanks.
