If you got money and can handle self-study, The Economist is amazing. Just seeing what they do really impressed me. $600-$800 is too rich for my teacher's salary but otherwise I would have done it.

Like I mentioned before, you can get the GMAT official, Manhattan GMAT, Veritas and Kaplan books online in PDF form for free. Just google and do some investigating. Then you can save that money for some extra apps!

Congrats!! Same here, I got the call from Haas on 3/12 and was told I was not offered the Fellowship. I was however offered membership to the Consortium. You should receive a formal acceptance letter in an email 1-2 days after the call. The letter will explicitly say if you are offered Consortium Membership. Also, make sure to check your CGSM online account. I'm curious, what was your GMAT? I assume that the admissions office reserves the Fellowships for people who are at higher risk of not matriculating, in particular people with high GMATs. I'm certain that my GMAT was the reason that I was not offered the Fellowship. I agree, the decision to do an MBA was a no-brainer when I thought I was getting a CGSM Fellowship...the decision is harder to make with a $110,000 price tag.

I highly recommend the Economist GMAT prep. I got 750 first try after 2 months with economist. It costs a lot, but think of how expensive it is to retake the GMAT, and think of the money at stake in scholarships.

of all the schools you applied to.. cgsm and non-cgsm - was stern top 3?

Yes, I always saw myself going there since I visited several years ago. So in my mind, my top 3 were Wharton, Stern and Kellogg. Not necessarily in that order. I'm in Utah. NYC is going to be a huge change. Posted from my mobile device

ok, that's great - you got into 1 of your top 3. it's harder if the only school you get into is not your top 3...bc then you start wondering if you should wait till the next year. i'd probably say nyu booth/ ucla/ross with kellogg not that far behind.
