amj643 No as far as I can tell I was not offered any scholarship money from Georgetown. From what I have read, they dispersed most, if not all, of their scholarship funds to R1 admits.

I'm hoping I get the fellowship from McCombs since I would really love to go there, and if I don't, I'll apply again next year since going into a six-figure debt to go to Georgetown isn't an exactly appealing choice.

Sure, I get not receiving the fellowship. But what about Membership? Like, did they say anything about OP or CGSM Membership?

They did not mention OP or CGSM during my acceptance call, unless I blacked out from excitement but I remember trying to listen for any mention of CGSM or scholarships and I don't recall they talked about either at all.

Ahhh that sucks. I would presume your Online CGSM account has been updated with status regarding that.

Honestly, if they're looking for other admitted students to apply for member, I think it might be worth a shot to write to CGSM or Georgetown and reconsider your membership application/essay. It couldn't hurt. If they can give you feedback, perhaps they'll let you re-write your membership essay and consider affording you another shot at membership.

It still won't result in the fellowship, unfortunately, but at least you'd get membership and get to attend OP. :-)

thanks thanks,

they did. about 70% tuition.

sigh. it's harder than you think. Some of the schools i applied through cgsm, i really connected with the admissions. For instance - the UNC folks were amazing and really made me feel wanted..... hvae to keep telling myslef that that's their job and you don't really interact with them much once you're in.

See you all at OP!
Hope we can have some fun there.

Hey just an update for people still waiting on their CGSM status - Sent them an inquiry email a few days ago asking why my status has not been updated on the site.

Got an email from them about an hour ago stating "We have not heard from one or more of the schools you selected on your application. The Consortium will hold all notifications until all the schools have rendered a decision"

Its a long shot but hope this helps anyone out there still waiting on a call or decision.

Congrats to everyone that got in and good luck to everyone still waiting

Anybody just get their Tepper decision? I'm in, but can't log into their application system to see my letter and potential scholarship. Any tips?

For those of you who have been awarded fellowships, how did you demonstrate your commitment to the CGSM mission?

for me it was easy.... i've been involved in various mentoring programs since college. and the goals of almost all the ones i am involved in are very similar to the cgsm mission

Is it really true that MBB will ding you for having a sub-700 GMAT score? I've spoken to a few people that have mentioned that they have friends that have gotten jobs at MBB with scores as low as 650.

I'm trying to gauge whether I should retake with a 680, especially since I will be working until about 3 weeks before orientation.

i don't know if there's a cutoff but I know they ask for it. personally (no basis other than my thoughts) - i think a 680 is good enough as long as it wasn't your verbal pushing up your score and you have great work experience and are generally the type of person they want. This is a perfect question to ask the career center at the school you are enrolling in though.
