I am in R3. I was invited to an interview with an admissions staff on Wednesday. At the end of the interview I was told that they will release the decisions earlier than expected. It may be as early as end of this month (but no guarantee)!!! I am wondering if anyone from R3 already received a call from UCLA. My status also changed early today from "being reviewed" back to "submitted".

I have a feeling the 'submitted' status means they've already made a decision on your particular file but aren't releasing the information yet.

I guess so. I have been watching my phone since 2 hours ago!

I applied R2 and just found out today. I wouldn't expect that R3 applicants are going to be notified until R2 is notified.

I had mine at the same day. I think I was too nervous and did poorly at the interview. I didn't get any phone calls at all. :( still says "submitted"

From what they told me, they treat the interview like a third recommendation. One of the current students I spoke to said he completely bombed his interview. So, try not to worry too much.

Well, it's not the end of the line. There's at least one spot that's going to be opening up.

Thanks for the encouraging words packet. The waitlist information mentioned that many will be admitted from the waitlist and encouraged me to provide updated gmat scores and other info if possible. It also says , historically if nothing changes , the probability of being admitted is very low. well , i guess at this point iam considering other options.

I'm in a similar situation, excpet I'm Round 2. My deposit is due on the 15th of April to USC. Did you end up paying the deposit? If so, are you willing to give it up if you get off of the waitlist? That's a question that I've been thinking about lately...

At this point, I don't plan on taking academic courses / re-taking the GMAT, and as a military member I won't see a promotion, outside of the increased responsibilities due to sequestration. Don't know if that will be enough with my low GMAT, but I guess we'll see.

Yeah, I paid the deposit to USC. I'm willing to lose it for UCLA. I work in woodland hills and I really don't want to have to drive downtown after work all the time. I would prefer driving to Westwood.
