Yeah, I wouldn't give up until the very last day... but I assume chances are diminished if you don't hear by this Friday.

I've been on the waitlist since December 12th, so I'm not going to give up until 11:59pm June 28th... Haha.

I was told that the admissions process is NOT over and they are letting people know "little by little." Has anyone from round 5 been dinged? I wish all the people waiting for a decision and the people on the wait list the best of luck!

My story...

I had my phone in my pocket while knowing that today was "The Day". My phone vibrated at 11:02 with my selected incoming call settings. My heart raced as I knew that there was >0% probability that the call was from FEMBA. As I pulled the phone out of my pocket, I caught a glimpse of the word "Mom". DOH! :roll:

Yes, I am in the same boat that you are in. I was really hoping for a decision today but I will put my deposit down at USC just in case as I don't want to end up out of options. Here is a question that I wonder if someone can answer - if I put a deposit down at USC and end up getting accepted at UCLA afterwards, would that lost deposit be considered a tax-deductible education expense?


I am guessing you call up UCLA to explain your situation and force a decision (?)

My deposit at USC was due on the 15th, and I paid it. I put in a request for early notification at UCLA as well, but they were unable to give me one. I'm still waiting on a decision from UCLA.

I paid the deposit to USC also for the exact same reasons.

USC should issue you a 1098-T at the end of the year showing tuition paid. You should be able to deduct is as an education expense (i.e. lifetime learning credit, etc.) even if they don't issue it to you.
