Hi all,

I just finished my video essay, here are the questions that I got (non-verbatim):

1. How would you approach your classmate who is having a hard time adjusting to a new culture?
2. What are the challenging goals you have set for yourself during your year at INSEAD?
3. How is the diversity situation in your current company?
4. How meaningful should your career be to be considered successful?

I didn't do well on the last question, but let bygones be bygones :)

Hi zee1222 this might help put your nerves to rest

Q: I botched my video interviews. Out of the four questions, I only nailed one of them. I really struggled in one of them and gave an incoherent, rambling response. And the other two, I wasn’t as fluent as I could have been and struggled to find the right words.

How true is it that they don’t disqualify people based on the video essays?

A: I listened to an interview last year between a key member of the Adcom and a large admissions consulting firm. Adcom person did indeed say that it was only a means of fishing out applicants who they might have otherwise turned down.

It was criteria that would give them a reason to say yes; not a reason to say no. This might be a lie, but that is their story on paper.

Rather than pacing and ringing your hands, channel that anxiety towards amping up your profile. This way, if you end up getting wait-listed you have a viable reason for submitting an update letter where I can help you make your case over again.

This means: amp up previous or current community service, retake the TOEFL, get a high-profile or international work project, get on the board of something, or if possible, get a promotion.

Getting a promotion at work is the best but the last person I helped get off the INSEAD waitlist…1 month before enrollment…only got promoted to Organizer for the local Soccer Club. So think broadly about leadership.

And of course if it doesn’t end up working out you have more juicy stuff to report for round one US/UK apps if you choose to do that.

Hello everyone. When can we expect R1 results to be out? 23rd November I feel should be the latest by which they should come. Any insights on it? Thanks

The calls usually start to roll out on Tuesday. So 20th November is the date.

Hey Guys, has the INSEAD R3 MBA application for Sep 2019 session become active yet? I missed my deadline for R2. I need to complete the application for R3 but I can not see an option to apply.

Hi shivam,

From the website, it states “Note that access to your form will be temporarily disabled at 23:59pm (Central European Time) on the day of the deadline, as the system will shut down for about four days. Access to your form will resume once the temporary shut down period ends, so you can continue editing it.”

I believe it should be up again soon since it has been almost four days since 14th nov (14 hours more to be exact)... all the best to you for your r3 applications!

shivam9205 you should have access again on Monday, I believe. The essays and questions are the same (Googleable)
My question for you, however, is why not January batch? For someone overrepresented ie Indian, Chinese, or white male bankers, I strongly recommend you wait one more month and do R1 where there are 1000 open seats.

This is the week guys! Good luck to everyone who applied in Round 1.

I asked for an early decision as I already received an admit from Cambridge. The adcom said that they would try their best. Has anyone here heard of someone actually recieving an early decision? And if so, how early?

Congrats subirroy! Now it would be meaningless to ask which one from INSEAD and Cambridge your are choosing.

I am also anxiously waiting for the results, so I am curious if we will also hear back by today or tomorrow.

Hey vsg, thanks ! and yes I'm Indian but I'm based in Singapore. My admissions officer is EM if that helps.
