As there are 4 rounds at Haas, is R2 Vs R3 similar to R1 Vs R2 of other schools? Or there is big disadvantage of applying for Haas in R3?
Looks like this went un-noticed. Could anyone please comment on this question?

I dont know the answer but here is my take.
I presume that you are asking this because you need the extra time of R3 to submit a quality application. In general if you had ample time and preparation, it is always better to submit in round1 (even if chances are same as round2, it helps knowing the decision sooner than later) However if your application does not meet a certain quality, you are decreasing your chances yourself. There is enough randomization in the selection process to say that your chances are higher with a quality application in rd3 than weaker app. in rd2. Good luck, pal!

So here's how I've spent the last week since I submitted my R1 applications
1) Checking posts and stats to see who else applied to the same schools R1 and how I stack up
2) Obsessively reading last year's threads to see if I can pin point the exact date this year when I should start freaking out that I haven't received an interview invite (I'm betting on 11/19 for Haas based on 11/20 interview invite last year)
3) Re-reading application instructions to see if/what I messed up (didn't scan that back of my official transcripts - called the ad.office and they said it was not a big deal until/if I'm invited for an interview. (on a side note: I feel like the ad.office workers have had some counseling or crisis management training. They were unbelievable calm, cool, and collected. I actually got the impression that I was not the craziest person they had talked to all day))

Well it turns out that all my hard work paid off. Tonight at 5:39pm ET I got an email from sweet sweet Vina Nguyen informing me that my application was complete and ready for review by the adcom. My application status has been updated to Application Under Review.

And they said obsessing would do nothing......

I'm doing a campus visit on Nov 9th. For those that have previously visited, any suggestions on hotels, commute to campus, etc? I saw another post suggesting a hotel close to the airport and taking the BART so probably will end up doing that. Or may just end up getting a rental.

I don't have any hotel recommendations, but you should definitely take BART. Although the Downtown Berkeley stop is on the opposite side of campus relative to Haas, it's a scenic walk that doesn't take too terribly long (10 minutes?).
