I'm doing a campus visit on Nov 9th. For those that have previously visited, any suggestions on hotels, commute to campus, etc? I saw another post suggesting a hotel close to the airport and taking the BART so probably will end up doing that. Or may just end up getting a rental.

Hey redjam, I'm going to be doing my visit on the same day. What have you signed up for? I have lunch with a student at noon, an info session at 1, and a marketing management class from 2-4. Any overlap?

Enjoy Marketing management.. Rashi is quite unique and awesome! :)

Don't rent a car. Parking on campus is a hassle. I visited the campus in September, and the BART station is probably 1 mile away from campus, which I ended up walking. I stayed with friends so can't give you any recs, but I can only say renting a car will be a huge hassle.

The BEST place to park is the big orange structure just west of Telegraph between Durant and Channing. Otherwise, good luck.

Again, there is a PERIMETER BUS that takes you right in front of Haas for $1 near the BART station. Here's the info:

https://pt.berkeley.edu/around/transit/routes

"P" and "R" will definitely get you to Haas.

Is it okay to write about a hobby that I have in depth involvement in for the "Most passionate about" question or does it have to align with my career goals etc? I have read varying view points on this one and am wondering how to approach the qsn.

YES. Haas really wants to know you as a person and what your real passions are. In fact, I'd say ONLY my career goals essay was about my career goals. My 4 short essays were all about extracurricular stuff.

Have a good mix of career and personal stories. the better the adcom can learn about who you are as a person through your essays, the better.

Did you get a mail from Nicole Sandburg saying "Your file is now ready for review by the admissions committee " ?

Thanks for the info. My family lives in Marin and I'm going to be staying there during my visit. So unfortunately, with no Bart and (probably) no bus service connecting the two, I'll have to drive.

I'll be visiting this upcoming Tuesday. Realistically, how much time do you think I should set aside for parking? And can I get more than a 2 hour parking spot, or will I have to move the car in the middle of Marketing Management?

Has your status changed in the system? I never received the email either, but my status was changed to under review about a week ago (I think) and there's a note about needing transcripts if I am invited to interview that refers to my specific undergrad school. I think it's a little odd that I didn't get the email, but I'm checking my status frequently and am not too worried about it.

I did not get that e-mail either, my status has changed anyway. So do not worry, there seems to be a flaw in the system that does certainly not affect the handling of your application.

BTW: I applied for round 1 as well.

Roll call updated.

Congratulations to everyone who has already received an interview invitation. We should see a significant increase in invitations over the next 3-4 weeks.

Wow, I'm very impressed with the Haas staff. I was invited to interview but am not able to go out to campus for the scheduled dates. I tried to set up an off campus interview and was surprised to see that they did not have anyone in NC. I called the interview scheduler just to check to make sure that there wasn't anyone in NC and she hooked it up with an interviewer in my area. The scheduler was unbelievably nice and accommodating. I'm not saying that they will be able to do this in every situation but it was really cool that she went out of her way to find me someone.

Well played Haas......well played

So I submitted my app on 10/13 and got the "under review" email on 10/18. I saw that someone who got the "under review" notification on 10/20 was already notified of an interview. Does that mean I've been passed over? :(
