A good learning from this would be that Booth should NOT have Booth Live before interview invites come out. It makes more sense to have it after all the invites are sent out so that people with a reasonably decent shot of getting into the school can at least combine the interview with the day long event.
I don't know if I agree with this blanket statement. I don't think Booth Live is solely intended on 'woo-ing' those whom they have selected to interview.
Surely, Booth Live is also an great event for those contemplating a Round 2/3 submission to get to really know the school in advance of their application.
Also, let's not forget Chicago is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the US, and it's very easy to make a weekend trip around Booth (tagging a Friday or Monday visit) to get to know the city once you are notified of an interview.
