Yes, the article's a bit outdated (it still includes the admissions fellows, which isn't done anymore), but I would be willing to bet that their philosophy hasn't really changed.
Wish this was true but a lot of people who submitted hours before the deadline received invites as well! Weirdly enough though, it seems like most (?) people who got invites wrote essays. Perhaps they were quicker to review than presentations? Haha who knows. It's all conjecture at this point.
