For every event I attended before acceptance nearly everyone as wearing a suit. I think it's one of those things where dressing up probably doesn't help you, but you don't want to be the one under dressed person and have the adcom remember you when your application comes through.

The invitation for Preview Day said business/smart casual attire. I'll be wearing slacks, sport coat, button-down shirt with a tie for Preview Day and then a full suit for my actual interview the following Monday.

Hey, there is definitely an event happening on campus during the day and a liquid preference function from 4:30-6pm, not sure if you can crash, but I'd be willing to hang out afterwards as well.

Let me know what you are thinking, but there is likely a number of folks in from out of town with nothing to do at 6.

I'm my best self early in the morning so I snagged the earliest spot I could - or I wanted to get in before the bar was raised significantly!

I'm not entirely sure about lunch and was wondering the same. I get the impression that it's informal as they're calling it a "drop-in" lunch. Also, it's two hours - that's a long time for a sit-down lunch. I expect it to be like, stop in, grab a bite, shoot the breeze, and an be on your way (for morning interviews), or come a little later and fill up before the afternoon sessions.

By the way, I hope you saw the e-mail sent out yesterday about the location change. If not, let me know.

i'm my worst self early in the AM so glad I was able to snag a 2pm slot. I got the same impression as well re the lunch, will prob swing by around noon or so. I saw the update email, thanks for checking in though. I hope nobody missed it and shows up confused at the wrong location.
