anybody have any thoughts on deferred applicants' chances now in the regular decision round? Will deferred applicants have an equal chance of getting in versus regular decision folks, or at we at a disadvantage because we have already been "rejected" once already? I have no idea how this works and would appreciate some insight on this.

Also, is it adcom's policy to automatically defer applicants to regular decision if they don't cut it for the early decision round? The reason why I'm asking is because I haven't heard of anyone that applied early decision, received an interview invitation, and have been rejected yet (I know it's still early in the process).

Thanks!

I am visiting Columbia next week and had sent out a few e-mails but without luck of reaching anybody. I'm thinking perhaps since it's a new school year that the information for Club presidents has changed.

Anybody out there at Columbia in the Finance Club?? I would love to pick a brain if somebody is willing and has the time.

Looks like this week is gone like that.

Ironically enough, thank you other schools for keeping me busy with your essays :-D

Just preparing myself for the worst at this point so that I can get back up quicker. No time to waste !!

Congrats!

Just looked at your profile -- given your post-MBA goal (PE) your essays must have been awesome with how fast you got a decision! Nice work.

Maybe there's someone from admission on this forum- it just changed to under review. :D

I am past my 4 weeks mark, but also I am a reapplicant with a decent interview last year, so I don't know whether to be happy that I haven't yet been dinged, or to be sad that I haven't yet been invited to interview. What a conundrum!

Hey, would you guys mind putting your data into the spreadsheet?

One comment on the spreadsheet. Would it make sense to add a column indicating whether the individual is a reapplicant? This seems to impact timelines and may skew the data.

I've changed the "Comments" field to "Reapplicant?". The problem is I don't know who is and isn't a reapp, so I've populated the ones I think are, but if anyone else is a reapp let me know.

You're a saint, brainhurt. Wait till you get into CBS, though -- let's see you how long you remain committed to this project. :)

lol, ya I was thinking about that yesterday. I'm guessing it will be passed from one round of applicants to the next, but then again if I get in it will be a good opportunity to get to know some future classmates in advance. OTOH, if I get dinged, well.... ;)

Hi all,
Are there any word amount limitation for the recommendation letters? Seem like my recommender wrote too many...

Hi All,

Submitted my app on 16th Sep.

I looked at the spreadsheet and found that the dings come between 30 and 40 days, whereas the interview request can vary from 15 to 70 days ?

Is that the general observation of the group ?

I don't think there is an explicit word limit for recommendations, but I would say the more concise the better.

My recommender told me that there is a 2000 character word limit for each question.

If there is, it's new for this year. I know there wasn't a limit last year. However, there seem to be changes to numerous parts of the application this year so perhaps there is.
