okay - need advice.
got call 11am this morning with followup questions: 1) restructured out of job this month, what will you do until orientation if you get in and 2) short term goal, backup plan.
For the first q, i kind of fumbled a bit but said that I'm currently looking for contract/short term scientific positions. This afternoon had a great interview with a company that is interested in me starting ASAP and is aware that I'm applying to b-school and would be there for only a limited time. Home-based/travel position, could do it here and after mr.vigga and i move to NY. Still have to go through formal interviews, no offer yet, but really promising.
The adcom i spoke to was really nice and gave me his personal email address for any future questions, should I send an email explaining this new development? I hesitate because I don't have an actual offer, and I don't want to be too pushy. But, if I get deferred/dinged because they are worried that I won't find a job and will start bschool with a 9mo hole in my resume, then I'll wish I would have said something. Should I wait in case I do get deferred? Either way, I'll find out about this job within the next week or so - they want me to start after t-giving.
aaack - what to do?!
my heart almost dropped out of my pants when i saw the "unknown" call. looks like updates will be coming for those of us in purgatory soon - he said i should get an answer within a week.
