Hey All,
Just did some "back of the napkin" calculations: the average GMAT for the admitted ED group as set forth in the spreadsheet on the first page is 730 (rounded from 729).

Avg 2013 ED (sample size: 26): 26.9 yrs, 4.6 yrs work ex, 3.5 GPA, 729 GMAT
Avg 2012 ED (sample size: 32): 26.7 yrs, 4.5 yrs work ex, 3.5 GPA, 724 GMAT

Seem mostly similar, except slightly higher GMAT

I calculated the GPA as 3.6something. Maybe I included one J Termer but I don't think so.

guys just got a decision also: "After careful review and consideration by the Admissions Committee, we are unable to offer you admission at this time.
However, we recognize the strengths of your application and would like to defer our final decision until later in the application
cycle. Our intention is to have all early decisions finalized by February 1, 2011, but it may be communicated at any time during
the application cycle."

What does that mean? What have typically been the chances of people getting in with this response, later in the app cycle??

Pretty bummed at this point in time!!!

I got a personal reply from a member of the admissions committee when I was "deferred" back in early September (can't believe it's been that long). Basically, after being deferred, your chances of admission are now "equivalent to that of a regular decision applicant, if not slightly better." You're still in the running. You just need to sit tight, send in any updates if you feel they add to your overall package, and let things play out.

So it seems that it's been fairly quiet for RD applicants after that first batch of interview invites. Can anyone speculate on the amount of time between "under review" and invite or ding?

Submited RD application (without recommendation yet) last night at around 4am EST and got a status update at 8:30am EST today that "[my] application is printed and ready for review". Is CBS that efficient, or they always print a batch of applications every morning (or just happens to be today)? Also my recommendation letters aren't in yet. Hope they will be put together with the rest of my application.

How long is the typical wait for RD to hear an interview?

ED applicant and got the notice that i was deferred today, majorly disappointed. Does this mean I am released from the requirements of ED if I get into another school? Columbia is still my first choice but hopefully I will get in somewhere else between now and February. In that case, what would my options be?
