I went to a Columbia event last night and they said that unlike regular decision, early decision applications it makes no difference when you apply as long as it is by the deadline. With regular decision, the earlier you apply the better as spaces fill up, but she with with early decision it doesn't matter.

so she meant that the Early decision is not really a rolling admission?

Well we only speculate, but perhaps it means given plenty of space in ED, applying earlier vs. later has no bearing.
So rolling for ED or not? I guess it would make sense for them to wait until they get a picture of what the entire ED pool looks like.

I had the same feeling. That's why people who applied really early like me will have to wait for a long time, unless you are definitely a "no." Then in that case, they reject you quickly.
I was shooting to apply by Labor Day. I guess the only advantage now is the ability to focus on other applications. I was kind of hoping to avoid preparing a ton of apps. I guess I'll do one or two more R1 apps and then possibly do some R2. Lawgone - what's your strategy?

Just had a few questions, just submitted my application for the January 2011 entry. Has anyone been accepted to the program yet? How long did it take you to hear back?
I received an interview invite for the J-Term entry yesterday. I submitted my app 2.5 weeks ago. For those of you who have already been accepted to the J-Term, how long after your interview did you hear back? And for those of you who have already interviewed, how many weeks have you been waiting? Thanks.

Also, anyone know the GMAT range for the Jterm?

I think a couple of people on here have been accepted. I know of someone who heard back for an interview after 6 weeks. There is not a separate GMAT range for J-Term. The only answer you will get is that the numbers for J-term are the same as RD and ED.
I am still not decided if I should submit my app for ED or R1.
Can someone help me understand how important is it to visit CBS before you submit your app... I have an impression that NYU Stern has major emphasis on visit to the school ... is it the same with CBS? I intend to visit the school but sometime in late September and do not want to wait until then to submit my app...
All CBS January 2011 - Class of 2012 (Accelerated Program) Admitted Students,
Please join the Facebook group Columbia J-Term MBA Class of 2012. Lets take advantage of this group to get to know each other, organize and announce events, and share our experiences and backgrounds.
I am not sure how many students were admitted so far, I was admitted August 3rd, but the number should be around 40 students by now.

What makes you think 40 have already been admitted? Am I that late to submit my application (got an interview invite this week, submitted the last week in July)? Either way, do you know what the size of the intake is for the J-Term?
Also, do you mind sharing your profile/stats? Thanks.
Yes --- can you please explain where you are coming up with 40 already being admitted? That number sounds very high to me given everything I have heard/read/etc....
Marcus -- you aren't late....the deadline is in 2 months!
Yes....please post stats Ziad and also when you submitted/went under review/got interview/were admitted....the dates.
