I emailed her back and she told me that it would just be a casual conversation. My interviewer told me that he had done more than a dozen interviews in the past 2 years so I am pretty sure he submitted a comprehensive report on me.

I was sure that your interviewer made a sloppy job, but if he used to do ITWs, very weird.
Either there is a discrepancy between the itw report and your application (and they like your profile enough to double check), Either they want to give you $$$. Sounds very good anyway.

hehe, I had some thought about $$$, but who am I to even dream of it! haha. I think they must see a lot of discrepancies between itw reports and applications. I doubt the admissions dean has the job to double check. anyway, my interviewer told me I was a very good applicant. This thing is driving me nuts, enough neurosis already!

hazay, I think you should probably hear back soon. Since you are in europe, she probably won't fly across the pond to meet you. haha

This thing is just so weird, given that if they really want to clarify something they can just give me a call and ask me a few more questions.

Weird. Either way, good luck.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will like to think it's a good sign. Just that no one had similar experience before.

I had an eerie feeling of déjà vu reading your post LGB.

Then I realized I read about a similar experience on the BW forums. I couldn't find any closure to that guy's story though.

I am starting to write my essays for CBS and I would like your opinion on the following question:

- my essays would flow much more naturally if the committe read essay 2 (tell me aabout your interests...) ahead of essay 1 (professional goals), since my professional goals are a natural prosecution of my "life experience".

Would it be weird or inappropriate to invite the admission committee to explicitly invite the admission committee in the first paragraph of essay 1 to read essay 2 before essay 1?

Weird? Maybe. Inappropriate? Probably not. You can write it, but that doesn't mean they have to follow it.

They needed one CBS person to "see you", either to clear a discrepancy or to make eligible for $$$.

I doubt the admissions dean has the job to double check.
It happens to be the dean of admission who is in Boston that day. But if the dean of admission makes a special trip for you, then you shouldnt worry too much. :-D

haha, i don't think she's making a special trip. She will be in town for some business. It's agonizing to wait till next thursday. It's already 11 weeks. long enough.

Hey Mate,

Actually, there is a precedent for this, and it is actually from a couple of weeks ago. A guy I know had the same thing with CBS. Got a call from admissions a couple of weeks after the interview (He is international so they obviously couldn't meet him in person), and they did sort of a mini interview. They had some very specific concerns that they needed some clarifications about. When he told me what these were, I told him that my interviewer actually pressed about these matters quite intently, but apparently his interviewer didn't. now, either his interviewer forgot (sloppy) or simply didn't think it was worth asking, but the adcom thought differently. Either way they called, asked, got their answers and admitted the guy the next day.

I'd be more than happy to share the inside stuff with you (i believe the concerns they had with him may apply to you as well), so if you wish to chat simply PM me with your contact details or let me know when you'll be online here and we can chat.

Cheers

I would bet on that.

Especially if the interviewer made 12+ interviews with finance>CBS>finance applicants before. He could have missed a couple of important points.

come think of it, my interview only lasted for about 45 mins, cos he had to get back to work. At least, I know I will have a small hurdle to get over before the admit!!

Mine was 90mins.

Well it makes more and more sense now, dont you think ?

Sorry for the $$$ idea. :-D

And sorry about this, it must be so painful, but clearly, it shows that your file went under review, and they only want to clarify a few things, and it s a good news overall.

Any J-term applicants get interview invites past 48 hours or so?

If so what date did you go under review?

Thx.
