Has anyone visited the school yet?
Everyone that I have contacted seemed very nice but I have not had a chance to visit the school itself....

Can someone share the class visit experience? thank you!

I have been to the school. I am really impressed with the students. Very down to earth and friendly...

The class I attended was Managerial communications and people were role playing. The class participation was very good and professor was keeping everyone involved by cold calling.

Ask me any specific questions you may have.

Aakashganga,

Three questions that I have:
1) What were the 3 biggest things that the students were marketing about the school ?
2) What was most striking to you about the school ?
3) Where did you stay ?

Some time back I faxed my resume, GMAT score and Interview request for Nov 3rd to the Fax number of admission committee. Lets see how fast they respond. How much time did it take for them to get back to you on this ?

3 biggest things: 1. small class 2. excellent professors 3. management game.
I really found the students cordial, more than students from many other schools.

I stayed in Days Inn.

Actually, you can email them the resume and the date at mba-admissions@andrew.cmu.edu

I didn't know that you could email your resume. I did not find this written on the website atleast.Actually a top 20 school not having an online scheduling system for interviews is kind of ridiculous.

Btw, what is management game ?
Yes Tepper does have a very small class size. 182 is what my xls has. I recently visited Tuck and I could see what a small class can do to bring the close knit culture.

Thanks for the inputs !

Management Game is a semester-long course where teams of students manage a company and compete against other teams (some teams are at other universities!). This is a truly amazing course where you can learn a ton. You go to "board" meetings and defend your ideas and management decisions throughout the semester in front of real executives.

I did my undergrad at Tepper and took Management Game during my last semester. It was awesome!

Amazing. Sounds great.
I am wondering why haven't I heard this based on my research of other schools - Ross, Tuck, Duke.
Which other schools that you know have this concept ?

I am a bit confused. The 3rd essay in the section C is pretty much like an optional essay. If I don't write that and write an optional essay, adcoms might question my judgment.

What are you doing?

I don't think one should write the 3rd essay from the 3rd question. Lets show some mercy on the adcoms. They read thousands of apps and we don't want them to read 2 more optional essays :) This can really annoy them, I think.

I am writing the 4th, optional question because I want to justify a dip in my academic performance. But I am keeping it very short.

For Essay 3, i have selected questions (1) & (2)..For (1) i am writing about how i maintained integrity when one of the employees in my own company behaved unethically..
For (2) i am writing about an ethical dilemma in my work place..

But now i feel like both essays are talking about same characteristic : Personal Integrity..Is this ok?? Or am i repeating myself same informaiton in two different incidents..

Personally, I would choose another topic. Both the topics u listed talk abt ethics. U should show a different side of ur personality with each of your essay.

best of luck!

I second that. Both topics sound similar and they bring out the same quality essentially.
I really like the last question - One thing you would be surprised to know about me....

It is open ended and has a creative edge. I tried to use that to my advantage.

Anyone familiar with the Global Trek program?
I am wondering how easy it is to design a program by students?
Kellogg's GIM are student led, so if you become a leader, you can go where you want.

Tepper's Global Trek does not look the same, though.....
