Guys,

Does anyone know that is the acceptance date of Tepper - Round 1 ? The information on the website just mentions app deadline and decision date.

No clue about the rate... but usually R1 is higher than the following rounds, so will be higher than the overall rate for sure.

Um um... I think you have something like 8-10 weeks before the acceptance deadline, this is from memory so I am 100% sure....

I got an interview invite this morning. I submitted last Monday near the deadline, and I did not request a self-initiated interview. They work pretty fast.

It does not matter whether u already had an applicant initiated interview or adcom initiated interview. I had an applicant initiated interview. Few weeks back i got an email which says that Tepper wants to interview you after going through your application. It also says "If you have already interviewed with us, then just send us the date and name of the interviewer. You don't have to reappear for the interview"

So u will receive an email irrespective of whether u had an interview or not.

So looks as if they are not so selective about interviewing like Ross and Cornell are. Anyways, I guess, I will just concentrate on my interview which is on 17th. Thanks for the info.

I also got invited to an interview and I was wondering if anyone remembers any specific questions from the interview? any difficult questions or is it pretty straight forward? I am interviewing with James Frick if that tells you anything. Thank you

Guys,

I am an Indian applicant. Submitted in R1, and no call as yet. I am confused as to whether I should self initiate an interview request. I will not be able to travel outside of my country now for an interview. Any info/advice on how I should go about this and will Tepper entertain interview requests in India?

Any idea whether Tepper gives out scholarships? If yes, how much and whether there is a provision of full scholarship. Any help would be highly appreciated.

IMHO, if you are on the west coast, I guess it is fine to do a telephonic interview. But if you are on the east coast, then it could not be looked upon all that positively. I would do a on campus intw in both these situations. The campus is very good. Its definitely worth doing an on site intw.

I had my interview last monday on campus. it was more like a nice conversation no surprise questions. Does anyone know if Tepper releases interviews before December 19th? it is very hard to figure out your chances specially because they interview most of their applicants.

Here is the debrief of my Tepper interview on 12/3. It was a self initiated interview:

Walk me through your resume
Why MBA
Why Tepper
What is one red area in your application
What is your greatest strength
Difficult person on a team
Conflict resolution example
Any questions that I had for her

Interview was with a member of Adcom and was very conversational. It lasted for about an hour and I must say that I didn't realize how the time flew by.

I attended a class as well as lunch with students. Overall, after visiting Tepper, I now regret my decision to apply to R2 - should have targeted R1. And Pittsburg is a beautiful city!

Will be working extra hard on essays....

It seems to me that CMU offers a rolling admission. So, are there really benefits to applying early say in Oct versus June?

I'm thinking about applying for R3. Any take on Pros/Cons?

I don't think Tepper has rolling admissions. The admit list comes out on one day. 19th for the 1st round.

the 19th is approaching fast. I wonder how many applicants will get accepted in this Round. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Eagerly waiting for the 19th. Tepper is not my top choice but I will still be elated to get a call. Does anyone know whether they make a telephone call or update in the online application ?

I was reading last year's CMU thread and it sounds like admit emails were sent out a day before. Last year's "mailed by" notification date was Friday 12/21, and gclubber were reporting admits on Thursday the 20th.

Watch those email boxes tomorrow morning!!
