It was a friendly conversation, he started introducing himself and then he asked:
- take me through your resume
- why now / why mba / why CBS
- which courses do you want to take (asked names and professors)

And then we talked about his experience and what are really love of CBS
Thanks so much Pebxiendhw!

Anyone who applied in R2 around 14th August with an interview would invite?
Hi nsdnsd! I applied on August 15th, got an interview invite this morning.

Menarbiersama1803 no invite yet doesn't mean a rejection. Invites go out in phases, as they did for J-term R1 as well :)
Congratulations. Can I ask you at what time did they send you the invitation? I had applied late july and I got an email from them that sounded weird. It was about upcoming admissions events. Did anyone else get that email for upcoming admissions event? Given that I have already applied it seems out of place

Sure! I got the email this morning around 11:00 am. Subject line was "Columbia Business School Application: Action Required".

And yes, I got another email a few hours later about 'Upcoming Events at Columbia Business School'.

Got an interview invite within 2 weeks of the Aug 15th deadline. Is the R2 deadline being pushed to Sep 5 a good sign in general for applicants? Would there be any other reason so do this other than not having their normal number of applicants?

As it eats up the space, people usually never submit the prompts with the essay. It is not a mistake however if you did.

Me waiting. Applied on 14th August

This is probably the last week

Although hopes are diminishing with each passing day

Exactly. If not this week then I wouldn’t have any hopes

Too all the applicants - is there a template that CBS says we should follow?

Hey guys, can the ppil essay have 270-280 where instead of the prescribed 250? Anyone who attended any event in which this was discussed, even in passing?

best to avoid - you can seen as not following instructions.

I have called cbs regarding this issue, they have informed me it’s okay to exceed the word limit by 5-10%, but it’s best to ask the admissions yourself just to make sure.

Yeah that is the ideal case scenario but reducing it further is taking away the spark, so just wanted to make sure if there has been some unofficial communication

Thanks a lot! They usually tend to say that. I have heard other adcoms say the same. Just wanted to make sure CBS wasn’t an outlier
