Thanks guys...guess I will go...any interview tips?

Have you seen this post?

https://gmatclub.com/forum/post424513.html#p424513

I got an email from a current student saying not to worry too much about the interview, but based on the stories posted earlier in this thread, I'm going to spend as much time as I can prepping... don't want to let this one to slip away.

Be prepared to be asked what other schools you applied to as well. And if they dig deeper on the other schools that's your chance to have decent reasons (maybe a general theme or two) why you applied to schools A, B, and C and segue into why Johnson is THE BEST school for you. My interviewer didn't dig deeper on the other schools, but I wanted to spend 30 seconds on the topic so that it looked like my reasoning was sound. Furthermore, I easily transitioned into the why Johnson and it would have been clear to a 3rd grader that Cornell was the best choice for me. Moreover, my enthusiasm, energy, and body language perked up dramatically during the latter portion. That's why I did, at least.

Well I would say a couple things. First the interview is worth kind of a lot at Cornell, but its still just one of many factors. Second, its impossible to judge whether or not you had a good interview so don't try (I know that's absolutely impossible advice to follow, I didn't follow it myself, but you should try). Lastly, my Cornell interview was (or at least felt like) the worst interview of my life and I still got in so definitely don't give up hope. Lots of people have tough interviews at Cornell. They seem to be one of the toughest interviews of the top 15 programs.

It really depends on who you interview with. I had mine w/ an adcom and it went tremendously well. She was friendly, reactive to my comments, and threw no surprises out there in terms of interview questions. It was a very standard, casual interview. I felt a great chemistry there, had specific reasons as to why Cornell was my top choice, and I think it helped a lot towards getting that admit.

Well, there is still a lot of time to interview. I thought that they needed at least a week to review the interview assessment before the decision date. However, I scheduled my interview at the very end of Jan because of work issues so obviously they can turn around a decision very quickly after the interview. There's still hope!

Hang in there. I went under review 12/4 as well. I got my invite yesterday. It seems that the holidays put admissions a little behind.

If you look at the front page roll call, it is normal. Some of us in Round 1 waited 4-6 weeks. Nadtrans got his interview invite TWO MONTHS after he submitted. Dont sweat it:)

I declined my offer of admission to the Johnson School today. I do think the Johnson School offers a fantastic MBA program and Cornell is an amazing institution to be associated with, with however personal considerations based solely on "fit" have led me to decide to matriculate elsewhere.

"Rankings," academic reputation, or recruiting did not play a significant role in my decision - I want to be completely forthright about that.

I wish everyone else waiting to hear the very best, and hope a lot of you on this thread will decide to attend.

Good luck.
