For the impact essay, use the STAR method.

I think if your schooling has been in English you will not need the TOEFEL OR IELTS.

What I would suggest you do is reach out to the admissions staff at Cornell to clarify.

Sometimes it’s painful enough to go through the process of requesting waivers and exemptions and it’s just simple and easier to take the test.

PS. If you have just a week before the deadline, it does not look great if you’re scrambling to request a waiver. I would just bite the bullet and take the test and you can probably use it for all the other programs too.

They are pretty quick, response time also depends on the question you ask.

Good luck.

Look at the two essay together, make sure there is not much overlap in what you are writing between the two essays. Word limit is about 350 words, be specific rather than general.

Good luck.

Hi there,

Personally, I don’t believe in throwing too many points around. It’s better to have maybe one or two very solid contributions that you will be able to explain extensively than flooding your essay with like 5 without the Adcoms getting a clear picture of what you’re trying to explain.

Adding on the the valid points made her
You can also consider the Duolingo test. It is cheaper and also widely accepted by most schools— do reconfirm on the admissions website for schools you’re applying to.

Good question, I am wondering that as well. Round 1 is due today.

Are you waiting on one LOR or both LORs?

Only one is required to submit the application

There are official grace periods and unofficial grace periods. Traditionally, schools have allowed for letters of recommendations to be a few days late and still include them with the application. That is because they use separate systems for things and they sample the applications into single file so to speak Over a course of time so nobody gets to review them right away anyway.

Over the recent years, some programs started offering five or seven day grace period for letters of recommendation. Usually those will be spelled out either in the FAQ of the application, in the letters of recommendation section or after the application is submitted. If the details are not provided, it would mean there’s no official grace period.
