Just bought tickets for my wife and I to go to Darden Days next week. I'm pumped!!

rpratt, have you decided on a school yet?

As of right now I'm going to Darden. The only thing that would change that at this point would be if I got off Wharton's WL.

How about you Bakfed?

Darden it is, full stop. :-D Hope to see you there in the fall!

Did anyone on here apply in R3? I am late in the game but applied in March. Does anyone know how many people historically apply in R3 vs. the other rounds and if the acceptance rate is much lower? Thanks!

I don't think round 3 information is published but tradtionally speaking, it's quite a smaller pool of applicants than the other two rounds. Since you've already applied, just hope for the best =D

Thanks! I made the decision late to try for this fall instead of next fall and I REALLY want to be at Darden, so we will see. After the fact, I'm panicking about what being in the third round will do to my chances, so fingers crossed. If anyone else applied in R3 please make yourself known!! Would love to compare notes.

Fellow waitlisters, I have had two brief conversations with Darden after waitlist. Both seem to point towards a Ding. What were your experiences like?

Could you please elaborate a little bit? Whom did you contact and what did you hear?

One with Adcom and another with a student. Nowhere did I get the vibe that "Hey you still stand a chance'' or "send any good updates you have".

My guess - Darden admits fewer than other schools from waitlist. Or they might be talking about my specific case. Havig said that let us hope we still stand a chance. It is possible they want to discourage applicants from hanging onto false hope.

Did you send any updates? I sent some work related updates and just got a reply saying that the updates have been added to my file. I didn't receive any details about the waitlist status.

yet to send. will send one in two weeks. Dont be discouraged with what I said. They may very well be talking abt my specific case. Adcom member told that they will start looking at WLs mid may and they will try to fill the class with same profile of candidate who declined.

Looks like you've settled with Wharton. Are you receiving $ from them?

yea it wasa very hard choice, i loved darden but for me and my wife, wharton is a much better location and too much to pass up on

we are both from nj and i have been gone for 5 years since college - ranger training, combat, training cycles, and the 6 hr drive to darden would mean we would see our parents/siblings like 2x per semester

now we will only be 1.5 hrs away

lots of factors but yea, wharton is where im heading, it was definitely not easy though

did not get any money but only got 1/3 scholarship from darden

with GI bill, I already had a small money advantage and deployments gave me lots of time to save up money with no expenses and no taxes and stuff so i will be ok, still need some small loans but we (top15-20 MBAs) will all make it back

For those of y'all who interviewed at Darden, did anyone try to schedule a time outside of what they offer? I am the random R3 applicant on here, and I will already be in the area a couple of days before the only days they offer for me to schedule one. Should I try to call and see if I can interview while I'm there? Did anyone try that and how receptive were they? I don't want to be difficult, but then again it would be nice not to have to pay to change the plane ticket I already have for other reasons and not to miss more work. Any input would be appreciated!
