Haven't chimed in here in a bit, but something new has come up.
I've been thinking more about trying to do the Cross Continent program, after getting waitlisted from the Daytime program in R2. My specific job is not necessarily what I want to do after b-school, but I love my company, and I'm optimistic that my company will find some good use for me as I go through this program.
So, I'm thinking about it. The exposure to a bunch of global markets would be really great, and if my company supported it, would allow me to learn a lot more about our operations in those markets.
Anyway, the total amount of posts about Cross Continent on GC is pretty small. Can anyone speak to their knowledge of this program either here or in a PM? It's definitely a different animal than a traditional MBA. I'm just wondering about how some people have put it to use in their career and the value they got out of it. Any info would be appreciated.
Hey jsmith, a bit opposite of you, I was accepted to Cross Continent last year and decided to re-apply to the fulltime this year. Personally, I thought the program was amazing. It's definitely a cross between an EMBA and a ftMBA, perfect if it's been awhile since you finished undergrad and you're looking to accelerate your career in your current field, particularly at the global level.
My decision not to attend was based on two factors: cost (more than half of each cohort is sponsored by their employer), and depth of material. I only spoke to one student, but he emphasized that if you are looking to switch fields, you will not have the depth of curriculum to do so.
Otherwise, the staff, material, structure all looked amazing. It is incredibly well-organized, they've thought of everything if you're their target market.
