Just to help folks out here who are visting campus.

You can fly into CHO airport and stay at Cavalier Inn about a mile away from Darden grounds. Cavalier Inn provides free airport pick up and drop off and free transporation to the business school! They have good breakfast too!! Cavalier Inn is managed by UVA foundation as well.

Has anyone heard back about the remaining interview invitations yet? For folks who have not received invitations, is hope gone now?

Probably Darden has released all the possible interview calls for R1 candidates, as someone told me after thanksgiving if you don't receive a call then...

I hope Sara says something substantial about interviews in December's video blog.

My online application status changed from blank to "Your application is submitted. Thank you for applying to Darden" today. However no interview invite. And looking at the discussion thread in this forum, I guess it's a lost cause for me.

Good luck to all who are invited to interview! Hope you get yourself into the beautiful Darden or your dream school!

guys....essay 1...contribution to this highly engaging learning environment....

i am having a tough time visualizing how one could include some extracurriculars in this answer...i mean if i talk about volunteering, that isnt exactly contributing to the learning environment, right?

am i thinking of this the right way? thanks for any input...

I think you can definitely include volunteering efforts for how you will contribute, I think it closely relates to what I wrote about.

I focused on efforts to build a school in a Sunni-Shia mixed population central in south Baghdad where you need to work through lots of problems etc.

I think the case method / learning teams will heavily depend on people working together to overcome challenges to solve problems holistically - that is why they want engineers, finance professionals, military veterans, IT, consultants, and non-profit for their class, so we leave no side out of our thought process.

For example, if you volunteered to start a fundraiser or let's say volunteer to tutor a group of high school kids with problems you will be brining alot of skills to the table ---

Maybe for the volunteer effort you worked with lots of people from different backgrounds, you sacrificed personal time, worked with a limited budget, and showed determination to realize a vision

Maybe for tutoring you had to shape your approach to kids based on their individual learning needs, past experiences, or problems they had with confidence or other issues

In each case you demonstrate the qualities to be a good person and citizen who seeks to give back, solve problems creatively, and challenge yourself.

Does this make sense? I didn't get in anywhere yet but this is the logic I'm hoping will work.

Good luck buddy

I just got an email from my Darden account manager asking for my GMAT test scores. I've just sent it off.

Has anyone gotten this email? I'm not sure what to make of this. I've been riding this admission roller coaster for a while now and while I want to say that this may be a positive thing, I want to know what to make of this. Thanks guys!

I'm Chinese :-D My Skype interview is coming next Tuesday, but no one from Darden adcom has contacted me yet :|
This is really strange, huh? Just sent an email to them. only two working days left...
Anyone has remote interview experience can help me? Does Darden always contact interviewees right before the interview begins?
