I am actually more interested in knowing out of the total applicant pool in one application season, what % of people apply in EA...

Do they also send a rejection mail just in case they don’t want to give an interview??

If you do not get an interview invite, you have a few choices but of course these are more limited since there was no interview:
1) you get a ding notification when they release all admit and ding decisions
2) you get a WL (slim chances without an interview but possible)
3) some schools in the past have rolled people over to the next round for a second evaluation. This is very rare however.
So usually, if you don’t get an interview invite it’s almost certainly a ding. There is a slight chance it’s a waitlist.
