At this point, I have already decided to not push for it. Darden offers second year scholarships to those who didn’t get it on admission! Will be gunning for it!
Second year scholarship? I thought all the scholarship money will be handed out in year 1.

Mostly given to those who didn’t get scholarships on admission, and to those who are in the top 20% of the class in year one :P
Oh okay. Most programs will give scholarship money to those in the top 20%.

Yep, basically folks who would also get into higher ranked programs.

You mean only top schools offer Y2 scholarships?
Scholarships are give for both years. So not sure what “Year one” comment refers to either. That does not seem to be accurate. I said nothing about years. 😇😂

What did you say though? :P
Happy to clarify - Scholarships tend to be awarded to those who would also get into higher ranked programs and would likely choose those programs unless enticed with a scholarship to attend less highly ranked program. Eg. If you get into both Darden and Kellogg and neither one offers you a scholarship, chances are you’ll pick rank, not always but often. So Darden adcom preempts that by offering a scholarship Today’s date consider strong candidates who would not stay otherwise. There are other reasons why a scholarship may be awarded but I was just innocently agreeing with another poster 😇

Wait I’m confuse. Can an applicant get a scholarship offer in their second year in the program? If an applicant is admitted with a $20K scholarship, which is 10K per year. Can they get an additional amount of money in year 2 if they are in the top 10-20% of their class?

Hello everyone. Please who has any advice on what to do to convert a waitlist decision to an admission?
Follow Darden’s waitlist. Review your application to discover what gave the adcom pause. If your test scores was below Darden’s average, consider a retake or take MBA Math/Berkeley Haas Pre-MBA course and submit the results. In addition, send an updated resume if you have a professional update. Lastly, continue to attend Darden’s admission events as well as engaging with the current student body. If Darden allows it, consider having a student or 2 write a letter on your behalf.

Waitlisted candidates will be evaluated along with the next round applicants. Better hope for 2 things here:
1. Fewer people with a similar profile as you apply in the next round who has better stats and overall profile.

2. Applicants who were admitted, have chosen to commit elsewhere.

Hope this helps!
