Went for a class visit yesterday. I liked two things - case method, and most people seems to know other class mates pretty well. You don't have anything much to do outside of Darden. That means at any given time students are only thinking about three things - acads, recruiting and social life (including family). Looks like most FYs are already deep into the internship recruiting process (especially for consulting), so I couldn't find any FYs ready to spend more than 5 minutes chatting.

Shoot if you guys have any questions...

Sorry I was on a road trip last four days visiting wharton, darden and fuqua.

Regarding my comment above, I meant that as a positive comment (at least from my perspective). To me, there not much pulling you away from acads and recruiting. I felt Darden is kind of like a sanctuary separated from rest of UVA and the town. I think that's a positive. The town center itself is very chic and lively but about 15-20 minute drive from darden.

Since you are forced to spend about 10-12 hrs a day in a very small area, you will bump into people more often than not. Darden occupies a very small foot print. You can walk the length of Darden in may be 3 mins, breadth in may be 30 seconds. Its not a big place and I like that.

Let me know if you have more questions.

When I try to review my app before submitting, the full app is missing the essay and my college transcripts... Although I checked and they are still there in the respective sections. Is this the case for everyone else?

That might be because the attachments aren't visible in the html preview. Once, you'll be ready for submission, then you'd be able to view the pdf version. Don't worry, you'll still have the option to correct stuff after viewing the pdf preview.
It was the same with Tuck's application.

For anyone whose not gone through all the application pages : Do not forget to draft strong answers for the 2 short answer questions that are buried within the Darden application :

1) The Darden classroom is a high-engagement environment where students learn from classmates as well as faculty. Our case method teaching style is highly experiential and obligates students to share their perspectives. What knowledge and skills will you bring to our classroom?

2)What is your short-term goal and why? What makes this goal a good fit for you?

Both have 200 word limits and IMO are pretty important when taken together with your essay.

All the best!
