I used 2012, 2013 and 2014 so I had enough data to be statistically significant.

I mailed the ADCOM yesterday quoting my application number and got the reply that my file is still with the Admission Committee and the invites will be flowing in till the decision date. I don't know what to make out of this. This might be their template reply which they send out to everyone who inquires or there might be a small minuscule possibility still...

IMHO the admission officers do not keep the candidates in dark since that tactic would severely spoil the reputation of school affecting the future pool. If they say that they'd be sending out invites for a while longer, then they'd most certainly do the same. They might send fewer invites compared to the earlier waves, but there's still hope. :)

Did you interview on campus I assume? I didn't get a reply to my thank you letter either. and I also didn't get one from Kenan Flagler. From my 5 interviews, I received Thank yous back from 2 of the 5. I don't think it has reflection at all on the quality of your interview, more just that some people will respond to Thank you emails, while others wont, regardless of the quality of the interview.

Thanks for putting me at ease. I interviewed through Skype and she provided me the email address herself. I think I will just wait for the result but I am not very confident about my chances.

From my experience most of my interviewers have not responded to the thank you. But maybe I'm just doomed! :shock:

I got responses to thank-you notes from Tuck and Kellogg, interviewed by student or alumni. But I don't think that reflects interview results...

Did you realize that as a business school student, you can influence the MBA curriculum in more ways than you ever imagined? Students at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business recently created their own class on impact investing, an emerging investment style that simultaneously generates both financial and social/environmental returns.

Take a look at this video with MBA Admissions Dean Sara Neher as she interviews Ross Rosenstein, a third year JD/MBA at Darden. In it, Rosenstein explains how he and fellow students took the idea of the newly formed Darden Impact Ventures club, an initiative of 2014 graduates, and launched a student-led, for-credit course this term under the guidance of finance professor Elena Loutskina.

Rosenstein explains that this experiential course involves finding a start-up company and helping them with their business plan and raising capital. The iLab and Batten Institute have been very supportive of this initiative, says Rosenstein, who is also co-president and CEO of the Darden Impact Ventures fund, noting that the alumni community has also stepped in to help find potential companies.

There are currently five contenders in the running, but Rosenstein expects they will select one of them in the coming weeks who they will later present at a competition with other  schools to be held at University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in May.

This is just another great example of how MBA students can shape their own educational experiences while in b-school, and we look forward to sharing the results of the competition later this spring.

I got an email asking me to consider the EMBA or Global MBA program and a link to schedule interview with them. I guess there is such a thing as too old or too experienced to do "full-time MBA". I would have about 13 years of work experience by this August and in my 30's but close to 40 than to 30. A little disappointed but also encouraged that they have invited me to the EMBA program.

FROM Darden Admissions Blog: Admissions Talk Show — Ep. 2: Design Thinking
MBA Admissions Dean Sara Neher recently sat down to chat with Darden Faculty Member Jeanne Liedtka, one of the world’s foremost experts on Design Thinking. During their time together, they discussed: what Design Thinking is, why it is relevant to business, and how you can practice it at Darden.

“Design thinking,” said Jeanne, “is a different process for making a decision that really focuses on the creation of great ideas. So instead of just ‘how to test hypotheses,’ a lot of design thinking is, ‘how to we get inspired to come up with much more creative hypotheses in the first place?'”

Jeanne teaches a variety of classes about Design Thinking for First and Second Year students, including a week-long class in Barcelona, as well online courses through Darden’s Executive Education program.

If invites are indeed done, looks like there are fewer than in previous periods, although could just be a statistical anomaly that the GMAT club sample received fewer invites than the general population this time around.

After an exhausting, thrilling and interesting US trip, I finally came back to Turkey. I had my Darden interview on 3th of March with a second year student on campus. There were no curveballs in my interview and my interviewer was so friendly and inviting. It was rather an informal friendly conversation. After interview, we made a quick campus tour with her and she gave me some precious informations about school and campus. On the same night, after arriving Pittsburgh, I sent an thank you e-mail to my interviewer and got my reply in ten minutes. Whole interview process, from starting to end, was one of the best in my professional life.

And the campus and community were also “Amazing!”. An incredibly welcoming environment and campus feeling! After spending some hours on campus and speaking with some people from Ad-Com and CDC, I felt once again that Darden is the right place for any people to spend two years.

Now it is time to crossing fingers until 3/25..
