Fuqua has released decisions as early as Thursday, when the decision deadline was Monday, in the past. That said, I believe they released their decisions for the last two rounds of last year's class on the decision deadline. I suspect we'll have to wait for a decision on Monday, but I wouldn't be surprised if we learned something tomorrow.

I've also seen posts where people randomly logged onto their account and found a decision waiting before they were ever notified by Admissions. Sorry, I'm sure that will make some of you want to check your account every five minutes.

Hey vyomneeraj ,

I see you worked for Tata motors. Didn't they buy Landrover a year or two back? Hopefully they'll be able to turn around that iconic brand's image for poor reliability. Ford wasn't able to. I'm not sure what the problem is, or whether their reliability issues are real or imagined, but they have a bad reputation. It's a shame too, because the brand has so much history and they're fun cars.
hi ATL...

yup, infact they bought 2 iconic brands jaguar and landrover for around 2.5 billion dollars back in 2008....the main problem with these brands was that they had stagnated to an extent and were not innovating as much as they should...hopefully tatas will be able to change that and open up new product lines and new markets for these brands (starting with india)....they need to evolve and be the cars of the future...personally, im not a fan of jaguar...but land rover is one of the best suvs there ever will be...

It'll be interesting to see what they do with both brands. I don't know much about Tata, but I think they grew their business by producing an inexpensive car largely for the domestic Indian market. Luxury brands such as Jaguar and Landrover are a different breed. If they try to create inexpensive vehicles carrying the Jaguar or Landrover badge, they risk dilluting those brands.

Are Tata's vehicles know for their tech. innovation? Or did they buy the Landrover and Jaguar brands for their technology?

I like the design of the new Jaguars, I just think they suffer from the same quality/reliability issues, whether perceived or real, as does Landrover.

If someone wants to call, then have at it. Personally, I'd be reluctant to pester the AdCom when Fuqua's published deadline is clearly this Monday. That said, before any of you let the pressure get to you, may I suggest a more subtle alternative...

I believe Fuqua scheduled an online web chat (FuquaTalk) for tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. EST. I forget the specific topic, but I believe it is geared towards international applicants. If some of you can't wait until Monday to learn your fate, it would be easy enough for an international applicant to annomously ask the AdCom when, and by what method, R1 decisions will be released.

Good luck to you all.

see, tatas have always been the business house that has given india what it lacked...power, steel, communication, u name it...when india did not produce its own vehicles, tatas started tata motors and came out with a range of vehicles from locomotives to trucks and buses (in colaboration with mercedes)...later they broke away from mercedes and diversified to passenger vehicles and came up with suvs, muvs, cars, sedans, etc...recently they launched the world's cheapest car...so in a way u can say tht now they own the cheapest car to the most expensive and iconic car....by the way, the are one of the world's top commercial vehicle manufacturers already...now they have turned their attention to passenger vehicles...

dont worry too much abt mixing the brands..they have independent business divisions for each segment to make sure the goals and visions of these segments dont mix with each other...so jaguar and landrover will be like a whole new independent company under the banner of tata motors... the tatas believe in the concept of sustainable businesses so they make sure that each vertical is responsible for its own profit and not pour in fund from other verticals....they've very good at tht and tht is the main reason for their success... (they call it the tata business excellence model by the way)...

oh, they didnt buy JLR for the technology..they bought it for the business and for the chance to be the world's leading passenger car company....to be a part of the big 5...and so on....

i think enuff of the tatas now...(or we're gonna be kicked out of the forum)....back to duke...hey adcom....look how crazy we are going...!! pls get the results out soon..!! ;)

Did you get a chance to visit both campuses? I'm in a similar situation and I've pretty much made up my mind based on program structure and fit. I was really able to get a sense of both schools from my visits, and they're very different in my opinion. I walked away excited about both programs, but the difference in my enthusiasm for my top choice to the other was pretty big for me.

I was admitted to Ross and Fuqua and visited both and frankly had a really hard time deciding. If anyone ends up making that decision and wants my perspective, I'm happy to answer any questions/give any honest insights I can through pm, particularly considering that Duke's deposit deadline is before Blue Devil Weekend (I think).

Everyone else...good luck on Monday!

Assuming Blue Devil Weekend is March 26th and 27th, then you're right, the deposit for R1 applicants is due before BDW (on March 22nd). Presumably that is so Admissions can better predict their yield before releasing R2 decisions on March 25th.

I thought I heard that Blue Devil Weekend might be earlier this year. Does anyone know the actual dates?

No, BDW is very late - April 15-17.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I guess that's good from a deposit standpoint, but not so good for me if I'm admitted since April 16th is my wife's due date. Oh well, some things in life are more important than b-school admissions.

I applied for R2, just curious--has any R2 applicants heard back on interviews?

Also--can anyone shed some light on their R1 interview experiences, like types of questions etc?

Thanks!!!
