If admitted, would you prefer Fuqua over Ross? Just curious...
lol..not sure really...i mite have to start a new thread over it... ;)

Did you get a chance to visit both campuses? I'm in a similar situation and I've pretty much made up my mind based on program structure and fit. I was really able to get a sense of both schools from my visits, and they're very different in my opinion. I walked away excited about both programs, but the difference in my enthusiasm for my top choice to the other was pretty big for me.

I was admitted to Ross and Fuqua and visited both and frankly had a really hard time deciding. If anyone ends up making that decision and wants my perspective, I'm happy to answer any questions/give any honest insights I can through pm, particularly considering that Duke's deposit deadline is before Blue Devil Weekend (I think).

thnx highhopes...i'll surely take you up on this if i get the admit....

so far, im loving ross mainly due to the diversity of the class already admitted and the enthusiasm and support of the alumni and adcom...but majority of my experience came after the admit when i joined the google group and other networks...so cant really compare duke to this....lets see how good this experience is with duke if i get the admit....

I'm very much leaning towards Ross because of the program and my experiences with students, adcom, and alumni throughout the application process. Duke's got an awesome program and a great community as well so it is a tough choice. It really boils down to your own career goals, perceptions of program strengths/weaknesses, and fit, which is why I think it's important to visit schools to help make these evaluations. I'll hold off on a final decision until I get my actual results from Duke though; for all I know I'm already dinged! Shoot me a PM if you want more info about my campus visit experiences.

R2 Invites will be out of 4th feb and most of eAs/R1 aps have already posted their interview experience just a few days back ... so you can get those on previous pages ...

I was in the area two weeks ago and used the chance to visit. I went to Admissions and when I said I was an applicant an Adcom officer was called to meet me. We chatted for half an hour, she asked me some basic questions about my background, goals, what I like about the school and also she was quite open to answer any questions about the school, the program or the admission process. After that, I was given a map and instructions for a self-guided tour. As classes had not begun yet, I didn't have an opportunity to meet with students. For sure, my advice is to go there and introduce yourself. :-D

Duke started its prospective student visits this week (option of class, tour/lunch & students in the admissions lounge pretty much all day), have you checked the website to see if you can sign up? It runs every week through the end of February. It does not run on Wednesdays when we don't have class though. I really would not worry about getting time with anybody from admissions (most people will never have talked to someone from admissions prior to being admitted), just sign up and they'll know that you were there.

Hey Highhopes,

Can you confirm that R1 calls will be made and/or decisions posted online on Monday? If I'm not mistaken, I believe you may have already posted that all R1 decisions will be released on the 31st, per the published deadlines, and not sooner. I'm sure that would spare a lot of us from remaining tethered to our phone all day. Thanks.
