Just look it up. You can find it pretty easily in the 2010 forum if you just research a bit.

For last year, it looks like the notification day for Early Action was 11/24, but people were actually notified on 11/20.

This year, the notification day is 12/3...

Thanks for sharing the information mba20thirteen.

For the benefit of others that don't know, looks like decisions last year for R1, regradless of whether your interview was self-initiated or not, were released on jan15th. So yes, its a long, arduous wait. Probably best to just concentrate on other apps for now :)

Anyone know if not getting into Duke Weekend for Women has any correlation with admissions? I thought I was a strong candidate but didn´t get an invite to WW, so now I´m wondering about my competitiveness as a whole....

Anyone get a Weekend for Women invitation and if so, could you share your profile?

Hi I have 5.0 yrs of experience , 2 years in Banking and 2 years in Insurance and 1 in Credit card processing.
I know to get into top 10 is difficult with 640 score , but I want to take my chances.
I am looking for scholarship around 60%.

i think you are certainly in the zone for duke but 640 is pretty low for top 10 and without knowing your gpa it is hard to gauge. I doubt you will get 60% scholarship unless you got great gpa and other factors....

I am applying for R2.

GMAT 640
AWA 5.0
WE 5.0 yrs

What you think , is it a good score to get into Duke?

I don't really see enough detail there to tell. I can see that you have a GMAT that is in the 80% range, but it isn't exactly too high, though neither is mine. Also, I don't know what quality your work experience is, the 'prestige' value that everyone seems to prattle on about, so it's hard to say. Another problem might be that you are an international applicant applying to Duke. My understanding is that Duke has a very competitive international application pool with some pretty impressive applications. I read this on a number of sites as well as a post from a current student. Still, no reason you shouldn't try as you are still in the 80% window, assuming you don't have other hurdles to overcome like poor recommendations or a low GPA.

My opinion-You wont get any scholarships but you may get into the top 20 schools. There is nothing wrong with the profile, but scholarships are really down since last 2 years.

Hello to all. Please add me to the Round 1 list as my application went complete yesterday. I just received my Chicago Booth Ding so now I'm even more focused on Duke. Truth be told, Duke has always felt like the better fit. Everyone here seems to have some great insight into the application process. Would anyone care to comment on my profile with regards to admission and potential scholorships at Duke?
Male/U.S./Non-minority/6 Years of Work Experience in Alternative Risk Finance and Commercial Insurance. 690 GMAT. 3.2 GPA. Solid but not incredible EC activities. Looking to get into international investment banking or corporate strategy with multi-national firm. Thanks and good luck to all!

You appear to have a solid application there. I did some research into last year's admissions, reading what the profile and stats were for people admitted on an individual basis. I was doing this so that I could gauge how I stacked up against the competition. From what I read, as well as what I see in your profile, I think it looks good. I saw others with much less get into Fuqua. Funny, there is one particular person that had almost the exact same stats as you (they got in too). I actually did the same research for all of the schools I have applied to or are going to apply to. It helps me pass the time and keep me from going nuts...or at least more nuts than I already am!

This sounds about right to me. But then, the rankings are so all over the place from publication to publication. Each publication has its own criteria of values as they try to quantify and build some model to rank the various schools. It seems like a bit of a silly game to me. If your criteria is A, and school XXX emphasizes A, then it will have a high rank in that publication, while it puts less emphasis on criteria B and is way lower ranked in another publication that emphasizes B. Silly.

I've seen quite a few posts of people debating one publication over another, of one school over another. As long as a program is somewhere among the top, has a program you are interested in, and can get in, is it really worth getting your britches in a bind splitting hairs? Still, I do understand the ego thing of saying, "I went to XXX and it is ranked #6! Haha, and you went to ZZZ and it's ranked #8. Suck on that!" More silliness.

+1!!! :good

As I think, all we need to know is that Fuqua is very-very solid and reputable school and it is definitely in Top-10.
Other factors (i.e., ratings) may go up or down from year to year, but this foundations will remain the same.
