Hello to all. Please add me to the Round 1 list as my application went complete yesterday. I just received my Chicago Booth Ding so now I'm even more focused on Duke. Truth be told, Duke has always felt like the better fit. Everyone here seems to have some great insight into the application process. Would anyone care to comment on my profile with regards to admission and potential scholorships at Duke?
Male/U.S./Non-minority/6 Years of Work Experience in Alternative Risk Finance and Commercial Insurance. 690 GMAT. 3.2 GPA. Solid but not incredible EC activities. Looking to get into international investment banking or corporate strategy with multi-national firm. Thanks and good luck to all!

You appear to have a solid application there. I did some research into last year's admissions, reading what the profile and stats were for people admitted on an individual basis. I was doing this so that I could gauge how I stacked up against the competition. From what I read, as well as what I see in your profile, I think it looks good. I saw others with much less get into Fuqua. Funny, there is one particular person that had almost the exact same stats as you (they got in too). I actually did the same research for all of the schools I have applied to or are going to apply to. It helps me pass the time and keep me from going nuts...or at least more nuts than I already am!

Anyone know if not getting into Duke Weekend for Women has any correlation with admissions? I thought I was a strong candidate but didn´t get an invite to WW, so now I´m wondering about my competitiveness as a whole....

Anyone get a Weekend for Women invitation and if so, could you share your profile?

I am still waiting. A friend of mine got the invite. She has a pretty solid profile. 4 yrs work ex, lots of Ecs , awards etc. She had bagged two interview invites also..Cornell and CMU..so I assume I am ding ..lol

There was open interview last year. Last year the decisions came out only a few days earlier, not a whole month. It'll be unlikely for the decision to come out that early, since we probably haven't even started R1 interviews at in December.

Does anyone know when interviews had to be completed for EA applicants last year? I've heard that this year they have to be completed by this Wednesday the 17th. The reason I'm asking is because it might be helpful to then figure out when EA applicants might hear back this year. AKA, did it take them a week after the EA interviews were conducted to generate decisions, or did it only take them a few days? I've tried to find this info myself to no avail.

Also, do any other EA applicants feel sick to their stomachs over this wait? I know I sure do!

I definitely feel super sick. And I have friends and family saying I should apply to more schools, too. (I'm applying to 5, including Duke.)

I've already been rejected w/o interview from Wharton & Ross; interviewing at Darden this Friday.
The two rejections make me really worried about Duke, even though I thought I had a very positive interview.

Sorry to hear about the dings. The good part though is that you have time to learn from any mistakes you made on those applications in time to rectify elsewhere for Round 2 (though those are tough schools it might have just been bad luck).

Unfortunately, Fuqua's FAQ doesn't cover this. I'd contact the adcom to inquire about this. Some schools specifically state that promotions will not effect consideration of the application once it's been submitted (such as Ross). These schools will consider such things as improved GMAT scores though. Still, I know that other schools will take such things as promotions into consideration. As Fuqua doesn't explicitly say, I'd just email/call them to find out. In their online application directions, they do say that you can only submit your information once, and that any additional information or updates should be made by calling their office at 919.660.7705.
