cassieyu83 - As painful as it may be, I'd suggest holding off on asking any alums to submit their recommendations. From a process standpoint, by the time an alum writes a note, the recommendation is received by the AdCom, and it is ultimately placed in your file, your decision will have already been rendered. Instead, those recommendations might come in handy if you find yourself on the waitlist and are trying to build momentum for an admit.

Just my two cents...

I'd hold off too. If I am wait listed for any reason (R3 here), I will have an alum write the alumni recommendation. I guess there's an alum referral and an alum recommendation. I guess use your cards wisely? Maybe you won't need a recommendation. That's me thinking optimistically. Good luck! :)

Good points about timing.

FYI for reapplicants or R3 - In addition to alumni recs, there are CURRENT STUDENT recs too. There's no public link that we can access. Current students can find this link on their internal sites. I haven't found any public info on this but I know it exists because someone did it for me (R1)! So if you have a friend - be aware of this option!

Hey purpleshirt, isn't it the same link that I posted upthread? Just curious if there really is a different one...

They look similar but I don't think it's the same. Your link clearly states alumni. The one I'm referring to is called "peer recommendation". It has similar questions but is structured ever so slightly different that I believe it is a separate form.

For example, the qualities (team and leadership skills, communication, motivation, etc.) are not lumped together in 1 box but instead there are separate boxes for each quality.

I could be wrong but this is what I used!

Interesting. I thought the posted link is the only one that they have, which is why that's the one that I asked my friends to fill out for me. Good to know that there's another version that allows current students to provide more details.

Does anybody know when the Blue Devil Weekends (Welcome Weekends) for R1 & R2 admits are? I know it's wishful thinking, but just curious...

Less than a week to go. Good luck, everyone!

I believe it is April 13-15th 2012. Until a few weeks back you could pull up the page they had setup for this year's BDW through a simple google query . However, they seem to have pulled it now and it no longer comes up in Google search. However, I still have a tab open in my browser (that hasn't been refreshed in a month).

It sucks as the BDW coincides with the GBR, for the most part. If I do get in to Fuqua, I am really going to be torn between the two events!!

GBR is April 12-14. I know a few folks who are planning on doing GBR from April 12th through the 13th and then BDW from the 14th through the 15th. That could be an option for you.

f4fatale, GBR stands for Go Blue Rendezvous. It's Michigan's admit weekend.

GBR = Go Blue Rendezvous! It is Ross' Welcome weekend for R1 and R2 admits. Again, a big deal like the BDW. Of course, I think that it isn't entirely by coincidence that the 2 events fall on the same weekend.

That would be one crazy event. I suppose it is doable. Afterall I did do my two interviews back to back on consecutive days, so I am used to the DTW-RDU circuit already :)

The dates also coincide with Destination Johnson. So hopefully i'll be forced to make a hard decision on which one to go to.

Yeah! Do it! See you at BDW!

I'm skipping GBR, but I am attending a Ross reception in New York.
