Here is where Early Applicants started getting calls last year:
fuqua-duke-class-of-2016-calling-all-applicants-151319-340.html
An informative, if not excruciating, read.
I know it's going to be nerve racking the next couple of days. The best strategy is to not think about it until Wednesday. We haven't called people early since 2010.

Haha Asimov - thanks for the tip ;) will wait to hear on Wednesday! Although not thinking is hard but here is my current music preference for those who want to try it :P https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNkOOuVYYdI

FROM Fuqua Current Student Blogs: The Perfect Business School for Me
When I decided that I wanted to pursue an MBA, I had it clear in my mind that I wanted four things: a collaborative environment; a location that suited my personality; a strong curriculum in marketing; and a global perspective. Researching through the Internet was hard because almost all business schools claimed to offer what I was looking for. However, when I researched more deeply I found that the school that best offered these characteristics was Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. I investigated further, and after attending different information sessions, reading students’ blogs, talking to former and current students, and visiting the school, I decided that Fuqua was the perfect business school for me and that I was a good fit for Fuqua too.

The community and collaborative perspective is real at Fuqua. When I was applying, I wrote emails to current and past students to get an inside perspective of the school. I was pleasantly surprised to receive answers from all of them and to find that they were honestly wanting to help me, from connecting me to other students they thought could also help, to even inviting me to connect in person whenever I travel to Durham! This is something that I didn’t experience when researching other business schools. I felt that the “Team Fuqua” spirit was really inside every student and that this was the community I wanted to be a part of. It was not only something that was highlighted in a brochure—it was real and I experienced it first-hand.

Another important aspect when considering the MBA was the location. I felt that Durham was the perfect mix for me because of the size of the city, the weather, the cost of living, and its strategic location near major business areas. I wanted to live in a city that, while small enough to give me the feeling of real American life, was still vibrant, diverse, and had many amenities to enjoy with my classmates. In fact, something that also attracted me to Fuqua was its good location for outdoor activities that I enjoy. That’s why I hope to enroll in the Duke BOLD club because I not only love outdoor sports and activities, but I also believe that being part of this club will challenge me and let me learn from my classmates in difficult situations. Finally, I think that the location fosters the school spirit and a tight-knit community, but still provides easy access to major companies and major cities in the U.S.

Moreover, I was particularly attracted to Fuqua because it gave students the chance to choose a concentration without losing the general management approach to their overall coursework. In my case, I am interested in the marketing concentration, particularly the Product Management option. However, I wanted to be in a school that still had an important focus on general management education. I wanted to be challenged and explore different possibilities. Fuqua is a school that will let me do so because of its wide variety of elective courses—marketing, entrepreneurship, strategy, leadership—everything is possible at Fuqua. The broad base of knowledge and experiences that I can obtain from The Duke MBA will help me understand every side of the business. After talking with some students, I had a clear vision of how Fuqua could help me achieve all my goals, not only for my career in marketing, but also for my ultimate goal of making a difference and becoming a true “leader of consequence.”

Finally, I think that Fuqua is one of the most diverse business schools. I come from Lima, an emerging city that is experiencing an accelerated economic growth and is attracting investors from every part of the world. I wanted an MBA that would let me learn from classmates with different backgrounds, nationalities and perspectives. I believe Fuqua is exactly the place for that. I plan to take advantage of all the opportunities it offers to develop a global experience such as taking a GATE course and going to the Week-in-Cities trips. This way I’ll open my eyes to business practices in different parts of the world.

FROM Fuqua Current Student Blogs: MBA Skills Put to Work—Consulting in South Africa
I spent spring break of my first year applying my MBA skills to an international consulting project in South Africa! The experience was part of the Fuqua Client Consulting Practicum or FCCP, a six-credit experiential learning course offered during the two spring terms for first year students. FCCP was one of the programs I was most excited about when researching Fuqua and remember specifically mentioning it during my interview.

There are many FCCP teams each year that do either a domestic or international project. During spring break, the international teams traveled to Peru, the UK, Switzerland and Johannesburg, South Africa, where five teams including mine did consulting work for non-profit and for-profit organizations.

Working on-site at the client’s office in Jo’burg
FCCP Format
International project teams typically start virtually meeting with their clients at the beginning of the spring term and spend two weeks during spring break on-site with their client. We jumped in head first and had many Skype meetings to get up to speed before arriving in South Africa.

Our Client
My team’s client was a for-profit organization based in Johannesburg that designs, builds and runs branchless banking solutions. They’re a startup company pursuing an innovative approach in the mobile banking space. They asked for our help to create an expansion strategy as well as prioritize countries for future growth.

Attending the South Africa vs. Brazil football match with our client
The Project: Week One in Johannesburg
We kicked things off Monday of spring break in South Africa at an opening dinner with a traditional African meal. After two months of Skype meetings, it was nice meeting our clients face-to-face. Though we had done a lot of work prior to arriving in South Africa, the remainder of the week we really got down to it. On the first day we went into the field to a nearby township and met with the beneficiaries and future customers of branchless banking. During the week we conducted interviews with other employees within the organization and worked on our final deliverable. One evening after work, our client took us to the South Africa vs. Brazil international friendly match at FNB Stadium, made famous during the 2010 World Cup. We rounded out the week at the office and left Friday night for some leisure time in Cape Town.

Weekend in Cape Town
Our two days in Cape Town were spent relaxing and enjoying South Africa. Early the first morning, we hiked Table Mountain for magnificent views of the city and surrounding area. We toured a beach of penguins and visited the Cape of Good Hope. At night, we explored the waterfront and dined on excellent seafood and South African specialties like springbok and ostrich. On the second day, strong winds thwarted our attempt to visit Robben Island, but we made up for it by spending more time at a nearby vineyard where we enjoyed local wines. We waved goodbye to Cape Town and headed back to Jo’burg Sunday night for the workweek.

The final presentation!
The Project: Week Two in Johannesburg
My team jumped headfirst into week two with the final presentation. Because we did so much work on the project in Durham before arriving, we presented on Monday morning, early during week two. Our hard work paid off and it was a success! The client enjoyed our presentation and it generated great discussion between executives about the organization’s expansion strategy. Our team worked well together and we each brought a unique set of experiences and expertise that paired perfectly to meet our client’s needs.

Spring break begins!!
Since we finished our consulting engagement early, we officially kicked off spring break and used our free time to discover more of South Africa. On Tuesday, fellow Fuquans on the South Africa GATE trip arrived in Jo’burg and we went with them to the Apartheid Museum and celebrated a classmate’s birthday. On Wednesday, we traveled north for an overnight safari in beautiful Pilanesburg National Park. The safari was remarkable—we saw an incredible array of animals including lions, rhinos, giraffes, elephants and so much more. Thursday night we returned for the closing dinner with all of the FCCP teams and our clients to celebrate our accomplishments. On Friday before our flight home we biked around Soweto, the most famous of Johannesburg’s townships and former home of Nelson Mandela.

Takeaways
The South Africa FCCP trip was my most memorable Fuqua experience to-date. I loved the international consulting work and the chance to experience a new country with my teammates. The work provided a chance to practice the skills we learned in class and provided valuable stories to talk about in interviews. Now that we’re back at school, my team continued working with our client as part of Emerging Market Strategy class!

Good luck to everyone that applied in EA.

I applied for Round 1 and my status was changed yesterday to Application Complete. I read in last year's thread that interviews were all handed out on deadline day, yet I see that Duke has said Interview Invitations Sent By Nov 20th for Round 1 applicants. Does anyone know if the language was the same in the previous years, or if interview requests will be sent out before the deadline this year?

I received an email from admissions office today, stating that my application was incomplete and I needed to login to SISS and check out. After logging in, found that either my transcript was illegible (which it wasn't) or my degree certificate was required (god!). Sent both docs to them just now, and will now have to wait for 3 business days to see an update in SISS.

Anyone else faced similar issue?

I too had faced a similar issue during the EA round. I got a little frantic about it as the next two days were off. But come monday and the application status was moved to complete. They did so in 2-3 hrs after the office opened.
So you needn't worry :) :)

Even i was in the same situation but they will sort it out as soon as you send the missing materials :) so no worries :)
3 more days to go! Good luck guys! Fingers crossed ;)
Yippy...
My application is complete too! They accepted the additional docs.
Who knew that apart from transcripts one had to submit individual semester marksheets too.
Nonetheless, the admissions guy was too cool and helpful. :)

Same here, also in eastern time zone...this is going to be an incredibly long morning.
It seems from the forum from last year , that the adcom starts phone calls from the Far East ( Japan, China ) and moves westward. This way you guys would be the last to get a phone call .
BTW , no news yet here in India
