I took the MBA Math already and still got denied :(

All my hypothesis are going for a toss. I guess they got a higher yield in R1 and hence the rejects are many 🧐

To be honest, not a ton you can do. You can conceivably send an update letter or letter of continued interest. You would include content that can cover what, if anything, has changed about your profile since the time you applied. You can also mention that you remain committed to the school, though that rarely carries much weight.

It could also be helpful if you speak to a current student or alumnus and can have one of them send in a note of reference.

Other than that, the decision is kind of out of your hands.

How does a note of update work? Is it like the endorsement form? And in that case can the alum would need to mail the adcom directly, I am guessing

Hey, you were waitlisted in R1 without an interview and received the invite now? This gives me hope. Can you share if you shared any updates with the adcom or how you improved your application?

Hey I had almost given up hope. Especially because I noticed a lot of Indian admits from Early Decision and R1 (I am Indian too). I updated them with certificates from supplemental coursework + promotion at work. I used the Waitlist form on their website to share that I would love to interview, I am still very much interested etc etc. No major updates, so not sure what worked in my favour. Let's see how it goes - chances are still seeming slim though.

Yeah, There was a status update on the portal saying I have been placed on the Waitlist. That they will continue to review candidates. The usual stuff. I was asked to fill out a Waitlist form, to accept and confirm my slot on their Waitlist - which I did.

Was anyone over here who applied in R1 received an interview call b/w the interview decision date and the final decision date?

This pertains to those applicants who received the 'regret' email on the interview decision date but the email mentioned that the application is still under review and an interview invite can be sent.

But I am guessing that you did not receive the ’regret’ email in R1, right? You’d have received something like ’we are waitlisting you’ of sorts, right? And then asked you to fill that form?
