Just curious....did anyone on this board or a friend of a friend receive a fellowship from UT? Asking because no one from last year's thread got one....just curious.

Posted from my mobile device

I went to the diversity weekend and met several 1st years who had a fellowship...Texas is just a little behind in their scholarship notification and scholarships are done via snail mail. (At least from what I know...)

Same with NYU to my knowledge. I don't know anyone who found out via phone.

Some people on this board indicated they got a call about the fellowhsip from NYU.

Congrats, think on it and go where with your gut!

I got a partial scholarship at Michigan so the practical financially concerned side of me says take the full ride @ Emory, but my heart says $#^$#Q%#QR##%@#!! (aka I don't know what to do) lol. I'm going to pray on it and let the Lord guide me to the right place.

Busybee, this is a tough call, but both schools are high caliber with great people and similar-mutual employer lists (but you have to check for your preference on this). If you're looking for a push to one side, and if you are open to different career paths, I would try to sway you towards going with the FS at Emory. B-school lasts for 2 years, but student loans are there until you pay them off (decades). Think about it carefully and, unless you have a compelling intangible reason for choosing Ross, I think you should stop, calculate your future student loan payment, and be careful how you choose.
This is why the ranking is sooooo important, but I'm sure you're tired of thinking/hearing this.
My dos centavos.

If you're absolutely sure you can get to where you want to go from Emory, then why not? I must warn you though as someone who has already been to graduate school, your plans can very easily change once you step foot on campus. If your plans/goals change, will Emory be able to facilitate them? You can just about do anything you like at Ross...

Are we supposed to get one more email from Tuck before the big day letting us know how to access our accounts? Or has that already been done?

Yea I saw that. Only 2 ppl so far with fellowships at Stern. 1 got a call and the other who heard about 2 wks before the rest of us not sure how s/he heard. It's also odd that so many ppl in this thread got accepted and only 1 person got a fellowship call.

Tuck just emailed log-in info. Decisions available by 5pm on March 11. My guess is admit calls may remain but if you don't get it before the 11th, don't hold your breathe. Good luck everyone!

Thanks for the feedback prime, forumaddict, and victory. I think regardless of where I end up, it's going to be an uphill battle. I want to work in nonprofit/education reform. Ross had the better resources of the two, but even still I'm confident I can make it happen regardless of where I end up. It's a tough decision, I just hope I make the "right" one lol

Good luck to all other Ross admits & fellowship recipients!!! I hope the good news keeps on flowing :-)

Do you think this is a bad sign getting this email? Are calls going out Thu/Fri or have they already gone out you think? I know FS have heard, but I'm wondering about normal admits w/o FS.

I'm with you gals! I work in education now.... BusyBee, I'm conflicted for you. Part of me wants to tell you to go with your heart, the other part of me realizes you're not in for the potential salaries of some of our consulting/banking/marketing colleagues and maybe a great deal of debt isn't the best idea. But, I do believe that wherever you end up, you will be in good shape if you are proactive and diligent, and I suspect you will be. :)

Probably less if you're admitted. Someone in the Tuck thread said for EA/R1 admits, calls started on that Weds before the deadline.
