NYU peeps...Check your mail. I went home to check my mail at lunch time and got the "Letter." Didn't get the fellowship, only got a partial scholarship but I'm still in play for #2. Holding out hope that they will hit me with the $$$.

Are you located in NYC? Don't know if those would have made it around to the rest of the country yet...

Okay cool. Well congrats on the partial scholarship. It sounds like NYU holds the purse strings pretty tight, so that is great that you got some money. Hopefully I will be so lucky! My fingers are crossed.

Are they paying for all admits or just consortium? That's pretty cool of them.

@Busybee, they're paying for people's travel expenses?! I didn't see that!

Anyhow, back to the NY happy hour on the 16th.... do you guys suggest/prefer any particular bar in either the grand central or times square area? I'm thinking those neighborhoods are central meeting points since they allow access to most trains. Let us know!

Any idea if Darden is doing this too? Personally I can't wait to get down to Charlottesville for Darden Days.

The more I think about the Darden & fellowship the less I care about all the other schools I'm waiting to hear back from

I went to their first Darden Day in February and they did not cover expenses. (Btw, I went to the one in February even though I knew I'd also be attending this one because I just couldn't wait 3 months to go down there. lol)

Wow, this is such a great and exciting time for so many!!

Seems like the dust is fairly settled, at least for those whose that it has or have already thought about this, do ya'll plan on making that initial school deposit ASAP or wait a bit or do you want to visit the admitted student weekend for all the schools first or what are your thoughts?

Cool thanks for the info! Oh well - I guess they're ONLY covering our tuition, what's a few bucks here and there we have to pay for lol

@kn2130, the email was sent by Shana. Here's the part pertaining to travel expenses:

"As a Consortium Fellow, you are invited to attend our Scholars and Welcome Weekend events from March 24-26, 2011. These events begin on Thursday, March 24th at 7pm and end on Saturday, March 26th at 10:00pm (agenda attached). If you are not located in Atlanta, and if you fully participate in all Scholars and Welcome Weekend activities, we will pay for your travel expenses and lodging while you are here. We will also provide personal airport pickup on Thursday and you can take advantage of our group shuttle from the hotel to the airport on Sunday."

Hey BusyBee. Yes, I will be flying down to Atlanta for Admit Weekend with my partner. It's really nice of them to pay for our travel expenses. Emory is a great community so I'm keeping all of my options open. I look forward to meeting you down there!

No no. Sorry, I should have been more clear about that. They are not paying for partner/family flights... I mean "our" as in all of the fellows :)
