Oh man - just got into Kellogg! Real happy, but now this def complicates my Consortium decision. UVA is an awesome school I like and is offering the fellowship and Consortium membership witha bunch of awesome people but I also really like Northwestern (they haven't said anything about $$) and it's def higher in the rankings. Gonna be a tough choice. Wharton may come along and complicate things even further next Thursday
I'm a FS recipient at Darden. You're crazier than Charlie Sheen if you decide to pay to go to Wharton.

Not a good comparison. Charlie Sheen's a very sane man.

Guys, I have a question for you....

So I was accepted in Dartmouth (Tuck) with the consoritum fellowship.
Ross (I have not heard anything on the money fron)
Chicago (Booth) - I was accepted with $15k per year

This is a tough call but wanted to hear your thoughts.

Which one do you like the most? Personally, I'd go to Tuck in a heartbeat.

Hey hey now. Not everybody can be a bi-winner.

I want to focus on financing for small businesses in third world countries i.e. microfinance.

I know all three schools are great with unique characteristics that I appreciate:

Ross - I think MAPS would be an amazing experience, especially with real life exposure to businesses in economically challenged regions.

TUCK - The small class size and the unparallel alumni network. Additionally, the program's focus on general management is solid preparation for any business leader.

Booth - Flexible curriculum and the city of Chicago. I really like the city and I felt that I was a great fit at the school.

I am in the process of evaluating my decision and any insght will help.

I have two friends who used their consortium FS to negotiate more money from Booth. You may want to try that. They both wanted to do IB and booth is a much better school for that. I believe for what you want to do, either school can work.

As the previous poster said I would negotiate with Booth. Have you visited Tuck? You mention you really like Chicago and Hanover and Chicago are worlds apart, a bit of an exaggeration of course. You really can't go wrong with any of the schools. Microfinance isn't exactly a high paying profession so you have to consider how you plan on financing your school. Do you need loans? If so, will you be able to afford loan payments on a your salary after an MBA? Can you afford to pay for school without loans? If so, go for fit.

UCLA admissions decisions went out early this morning.

I was waitlisted, so could be another up to 3 months of waiting for me. FML, seriously. But I'll wait another 3 months for an admit and possible fellowship if thats what it takes.
