Congrats to all the Ross invites, hopefully we have a lot more coming! It looks like this s**t just got real.

No one has heard from Stern yet to my knowledge.

My friend did.. I think it's to those who applied R1 which would make sense since they say that invites go out in waves.

Probably depends on what you want to do post MBA. If it's something techy/entrepreneurial/niche then maybe Sloan is the way to go. If you want to do IB/MC, seems like Ross would be fine, especially if you're going to save 100K. That being said, at this school will be with you for life. #3 v. #12 full-ride....that would be a hard decision, but a decision I would envy :-D

Ross if you get the fellowship. I don't think MIT will get you a job that would be worth taking on that much debt or worth dipping into your savings.

Personally, I would choose MIT.

I was not aware that MIT started to offer admission. When did they [MIT] call/email you about your admission?

Personally I would chose MIT, well because I want to work internationally.

I would direct you to an article on Poets and Quant’s website on MBA ROI .you should check it out. The title is “Is An Elite MBA Degree Still Worth The Cost?”
Sometimes we make too much out of school ranking and forget to be pragmatic. A full ride at Ross v 150k debt out of MIT? The choice should not be that hard. I would take a full ride at Darden over no money at Harvard in a heat beat. So if I were you I would go for Ross. Then again for the sake of pragmatism wait for decision before even dwelling on the subject.

Does Yale SOM conduct their own interviews? Or do they just use that one consortium interview that we can complete at any school?

They use the consortium, but can invite you to interview if they need more info.

Speaking of the Yale app, do you guys remember that part where they asked which classes (if any) you had taken at the undergrad/grad level? Accounting, Finance, Calculus...etc. Which ones did you guys tick off? I wonder how many they look for...

I ticked off Stats/Microecon...

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum here.

FYI, I got an email from Yale last week in which they explained the deadlines. Looks like they will be sending out emails on Feb 25th.

Has anyone heard from Stern?

Funny, I didn't get this email. I read last year's Consortium thread and it sounds like not everyone got the same emails from Yale.

On another note, congrats to everyone receiving Ross interview invites! Good news coming in waves!

I got my interview invite from Ross at 5:33 p.m. yesterday as well, just traveling back from Ithaca so I could not post.

I went to Cornell undergrad and love Ithaca, and was offered a full ride on Monday to Johnson (no tuition/fees for both years). I have to let them know by Friday.

I did a R1 interview at Sloan and won't know until after Friday. Even if I were to get into Sloan, what are people's thoughts on that choice? Sloan v. Johnson full ride (and it's for the Park Fellowship Program, so you become one of 25 students chosen for this elite program, and you get a great mentor and leadership development during your tenure)

I put Ross #3 on Consortium so is there any shot in them giving me anything Consortium wise? I had read about people on here getting offers from Ross even up thru #3 but wasn't sure.

Thanks all. And best of luck to all of you.

Congrats.

I think your career goals should play a part in the decision process.

My guess is yes you can still get something from Ross at #3.

If I wanted PE/HF I would choose MIT. If I want general management --probably Ross with full scholly. IB-- I would probably choose Cornell with a full ride. Vagabond-- I don't think it matters.

Thanks for your thoughts. Would I have a shot at Ross for a full scholarship, though?

I'm interested in either marketing or consulting, if that helps. Thanks again.
