Anyone know what kind of questions are asked during the on-campus interview? I have a self initiated interview (through the diversity conference) happening this weekend, and not too sure what to expect.

Mine was very conversational with a second year- walk through resume/professional background, why mba/tuck, talked about a college extracurricular, etc.

Mine was with an adcom. She was very nice and made sure I was relaxed. When she asked a question, she followed up with a description of what she wanted to hear. (Example: "Walk me through your resume. What I am looking for are not the bullet points but the decisions you made at each step in your career.")

It lasts about 45 mins, with 5-10 mins for questions. Good luck!

A quick recap of my applications experience:

GMAT: $250
Application Fee Total: $925
Ding without Interview: Priceless!

There are some disappointments that money can't buy, for everything else, there is HBS and Wharton

Just submitted my application.

I don't think one of my recommenders can get his recommendation in time. If it goes over to the next round so be it. If I get dinged during the next round, I'm probably going to get dinged this round anyways.

It is available under Downloadable forms section on the left side on the application.

The 5 PM deadline was difficult to meet by one of my recommenders. He submitted like 30 mins before the deadline. If I get in, I'm going to work on having the admissions push the deadline back to 11:59 pm so that recommenders/applicants have some extra time to look over their content after work.

I don't think they will budge. After all, the application has been out since September and the applications deadlines were released prior to the application release. Best thing to do is give a recommender a deadline that does not fall on the application deadline.

I live on the opposite side of the Earth, so I hope they will take my circumstances into consideration.

Nevertheless, I got your point, thank you.

Obviously, for your circumstances, this is your reality. For folks stateside, the reality is much different. It's not that unreasonable to trek out there and make the visit.

To echo mohater's comments, the self-initiated interview is an admit/deny decision maker between two applicants all other things being equal. This was a confirmed by an Adcom during my visit to Hanover.

However, they do understand that international students may not be able to make that commitment. When I went there though, there were a bunch of visiting candidates from Brazil. I think they will certainly have a leg up over other Brazilians when they're applying.

A bunch of Brazilians ?! That's a huge effort, from 80°F to 20°F :o
