I was at Tuck yesterday for the self initiate. The above question came up during the q&a:
The final decisions are done in one release. Nothing else. The only exception to this is for adcom initiated interviews. Wait list, defer, admit, ding are all released in one batch per round.
Now, as for my school visit + interview:
The Tuck brand is definitely felt when one gets there. Reading the student profiles, blogs, notes from the ambassadors here, etc, you get a strong sense of what Tuck is about, but going there is a major reinforcement to this.
If one gets around the location (remote), wow, the place is amazing. Gorgeous campus, AMAZING landscape, very cohesive class, good resources, etc. The class visit was enjoyable (decision sciences). I met up with a GC member for dinner (no longer active due to time commitments at Tuck) the night before. Tues/Thurs tend to be the larger interview/visit days. There were maybe ~25 people with me. The app pool is ~3,000 (came up during the q&a session).
Bottom line: I really enjoyed the visit to Tuck. I am very tired right now (back at work after driving 500 miles + a flight in ~40 hours on less than 5 hours of sleep), but it was well worth it.
See what happens with my app.
