I got that Tuck email, sent the document in today. Didn't think anything of it, but definitely another opportunity to "sell" yourself in the brief personal statement.

Did you treat the biography as a personal statement? I was going to ask how people were approaching this.. it says a short biographical essay so I didn't know if it should be in third person and strictly informative or more like a personal statement. Thoughts?

I answered the questions, I wrote in first person and I used it as a chance to tell a little more about myself (more than what was in my video & cgsm essays). I did stick to the word limit this time. How are you approaching it?

Hey Qwill,

You mentioned word limit - what is the word limit, and where did you get the information?

Thanks

Word limit is 500, and it says so right in the section titled "Brief Biographical Essay"

Does anybody know what the consortium fellowship cover? Is it just tuition, or does it cover books, study abroad travel, etc?

Looks like tuition only. From the Consortium website:

The Consortium Fellowship
Last year, Consortium member schools offered more than 330 fellowships covering tuition and mandatory fees for two years of full-time study. Applicants who are admitted through The Consortium process and become Consortium members are considered for these prestigious fellowships. Individual schools may also award other merit based scholarships and financial aid.

That is correct -- just tuition, and more specifically just business school tuition. If you do a dual degree, you're only going to get 3 semesters of funding from the Consortium process.

Some schools can offer tuition/fees and a monthly stipend. When I met with an adcom from McCombs she mentioned a stipend as a possibility and my friend at Wisconsin gets a monthly stipend as well.

I was invited for an interview at McCombs. I contacted an interviewer, and she got back to my initial email quickly ;but, when it came down to confirm a date, she stopped replying. I emailed another person, and I am waiting to hear from her. Would it be bad to email a few people ? Given that interviews are due by March 1st, time is of the essence.

Wait 48 hrs from the time of last contact and move on to the next interviewer. In my State I only have 1 option and the guy asked me for the resume before setting a date or place and after waiting to hear from him for like 5 days. These people are funny!!!!

I think the details can differ by school. At Kelley, the Consortium fellowship covers full tuition, fees, medical & dental insurance, the annual parking pass, and the Washington Campus visit. At Kelley, there is no tuition/program fee for the study abroad programs that take place during a module/semester (not to be confused with the international trips available over spring break). Instead the tuition to the university covers this. However, the student is still responsible for airfare and living expenses abroad. So basically, a Kelley student would be responsible for books, living expenses, living expenses/airfare abroad. I've heard like others that Madison covers some living expenses as well. And Ross has full fellowships as well as "small Consortium scholarships" that only cover a small portion of tuition.

I just received an email from Darden asking me to fill out a VA residency form (that form isn't part of the Consortium app obviously). I applied R2 but I haven't been invited to interview. But they don't really need that form to decide on applicant obviously,..honestly, since i havent heard anything from Darden I assumed I was probably a ding,...but if they already decided not to invite me,..do you think they would even bother asking me to fill out the form?

Anybody have an opinion on this?

I know that Darden's invites are rolling, and they don't seem to have an interview deadline prior to decisions unlike some schools(Ross, Johnson, Tuck are the ones I know about, and they have all past). As far as the VA residency, it may be a case of them putting together all the pieces of your app prior to final review. I had an interview with them this week and the adcom member who interviewed me had not seen my application nor read my resume. The way she explained it is that 2 people read the app and decide to invite, one person does the interview without reading the other's notes, and all three reports are submitted to another 2 people for final decision.

Long story short, I think they are completing all aspects of your file for review.

Thanks,...I really hope you're right. That would mean I'm still in the game. Anyway, I just sent in the form today.

Hey everyone! I applied R1 through the Consortium to USC and got an email from the adcom stating "All Consortium candidates, both round 1 and round 2, are rendered decisions in mid-February." It's February 22nd but I haven't heard back.

Has anyone heard anything from USC?

After my on-campus interview the Adcoms told me decisions would be released mid-March. Yesterday I e-mailed them asking if they knew exactly when decisions were going to be released, no response yet and I did not get the e-mail you received.

Please keep us updated if you hear anything else about when SC is releasing decisions. I'm Consortium Rd.1
