Hey all. I joined GMAT Club a while ago but am new to the thread.

I have to vote UMICH on most helpful. A member of The Consortium that went to Ross in '08 has been an amazing help.

Welcome BEnergy! Be sure to add yourself to our Consortium Roll Call in your profile settings....

Also to all others... ROSS WINS as the MOST responsive group of Consortium represented schools!

Go Blue!

Hi all,

I wanted to offer an update to all waitlisters on the Consortium thread. I received a very nice message from a current student at Darden and apparently our cries were heard! Today, Darden posted this on their blog: https://blogs.darden.virginia.edu/admiss ... -waitlist/

Additionally, Casey assures me that Consortium applicants were in fact accepted in the first round; so I guess that means some of us have gaps in our applications that can (hopefully) be addressed. I'm still hoping that we at least have a lurker out there that can identify themselves as one of the lucky few who were accepted so we can get at least one Darden admit on gmatclub, but I'm sure we will see many more in Round 2.

Finally, I just want to that the responsiveness of the Darden students for getting on top of this and getting some answers for those of us that are on the waitlist. It would also seem that Darden is, in fact concerned about yield (and this is not a bad thing by any means)... that understood, if Darden is your NUMBER ONE choice, please by all means let them know and it may increase the likelyhood of you being taken off the waitlist.

Good luck to all and thank you again Darden for responding!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site, so it's good to see people helping people out here. I haven't seen much on NYU, are not many people applying to it? Anyone hear back from them yet? I only applied to two schools in the Consortium- I didn't want to apply to too many schools and I applied to some outside the Consortium. Any help is appreciated!

Welcome suertegirl, please don't forget to join our roll call... you're right, not a lot of action from NYU, however your should PM johnnygmat2k12 to get info on what he's heard so far. He's a Consortium Round 1 applicant.

Good luck and we'd love to hear from you more!

Thanks Faro and Senator! I think I added myself to the roll call.

I'm on my way up to Ithaca to interview in a couple of weeks. I'm looking to network with some current students that are members with The Consortium. If anyone knows anyone willing to chat I'd appreciate the intro!

Also, I recently interviewed with Simon if I can help anyone with that.

I will also be interviewing at Johnson, Feb 10 at 11:15am. I'm going to meet treydingo, a member of this forum, for lunch, let me know if you want to join us. Good Luck to you!!!!

I got the check status email at 3AM PT from Anderson (having not slept knowing the decision was coming today). I'm usually a pretty calm guy, but my hands were trembling so hard that it took me 3 attempts to log-in. Everything I went through to get to that point - missing work to visit schools, staying up late to study for the GMAT and write essays, (foolishly) telling everyone who I'm close to that Anderson was my first choice, etc. - flashed through my mind. The next two clicks to get to the decision were the longest and most ominous clicks of my life. And all that tension for naught - Anderson 2014!

I was in the same exact situation, except for it was 6am for me in the west coast and I was just waking up. See you in this fall!

Congrats teq! Does this mean you're going to Anderson? That's awesome!!!

Yeah I'm pretty set on it. I has been my top choice (and my top ranked school) so I'm happy. Now I'm just hoping I get some positive news regarding the Consortium fellowship. Does anyone know how sensitive Anderson is to our rankings?

Weird thing... I JUST barely received my log in today,
But my invite came two days ago,

I don't know if there is a rhyme or reason to when the log in info is sent, but this does mean that Johnson may be looking at your application right now, and may choose to invite you even if you haven't heard anything yet.

Consortium weekend at cornell is still 2 weeks out, so I'm sure you'll hear something soon.
Crossing our fingers for you man, hang in there!

Pardon my ignorance, but I have never heard of this Consortium weekend at Cornell.

What is it? Only thing I know is that for Cornell, decision date will be on mid to late March (I am assuming we are consolidated with R3 applicants.)
Do they plan to release decisions for Consortium applicants ahead of the rest? In 2 weeks? :o

No problem, I had never heard of it either.
From their email they sent me:
"On February 9th and 10th we will be holding Consortium interview days and we strongly encourage you to come to Ithaca for your interview. This will allow you to visit campus and experience the Johnson community by attending a class and information session. "

That's all I know about it...

Got an admit call from Olin today, CGSM R1 applicant. No word of $, Evan said they'll make a bunch of decisions in March during the draft.

I know a guy who applied to Darden Consortium Rd1, ranked them #2, and not only got in, but was offered a full ride scholarship. I told him a few days ago that it seemed everybody on the forums that applied via Consortium were waitlisted and I encouraged him to join the forum since I'm sure people would like him to share his experience with Darden. Hopefully he decides to join.

So I told Stern I am retaking my GMAT because my score is low (610), and they just told me they will wait until my new score comes in to evaluate my app. Not a ding, but now the pressure is on to hit my practice score on the real thing. I know the 80% ranges and all that, but any more thoughts on how much Stern really does value the GMAT?
