Applied R2 to Yale, Cornell, Tuck and NYU. Received interview from Yale and Cornell. Havent heard anything from Dartmouth and Stern. Perhaps picking them as #3 and #4 on my list was a bad idea? Have many Consortium applicants heard back from Tuck? I havent even received an acknowledgement of my application being received..

Dreamer1, Welcome, welcome. I encourage you to join our Consortium roll call. Rankings aside, faro and mooze are right about Tuck. Self-initiate or roll the dice on an invite. In all honesty, at this stage it may be hard to self-initiate and interview invites are drying up quickly for Dartmouth. Both schools are sensitive to rankings. Although, Stern seems to be extremely tough this year.

Hi all, after a four, five day hiatus, I'm back! I've updated my blog with a reprisal of interviews and visits and would be happy to offer advice to those who still have interviews ahead. Happy to say I'm officially done interviewing, yet unhappy to say I'm any closer to selecting an absolute favorite. I've narrowed it down to three schools for the most part.

I'm having my Cornell interview this Thursday over Skype with an adcom member. Did anyone else who interviewed via Skype have any tips? I have a Macbook Pro with built-in speaker and microphone and was planning to just speak naturally during the interview but was wondering whether it would be better to have an external headphone/microphone for the interview. Other interview tips much appreciated as well!

Hey all,

Had my Ross interview this past weekend. Outside of Why MBA and Why Ross, it was very conversational and not the 'structured question --> structured answer' format. I think this may have been a factor of my interviewer's style as opposed to a Ross standard though.

My advice for anyone yet to interview is show your passion/affinity for Ross, dont be afraid to name specific initiatives at the school that attracted you to it, be casual but also professional. My experience with Ross students have shown them to be folks who are very accomplished but also down to earth, so as much as possible, convey that in your interview. All the best!

I took a three week vacation from work and I spent my entire Christmas and New Year writing essays. I didnt go out and I saw very few visitors. I was just writing essays. My dad is a very good writer so he edited all my essays. It was pretty much a working vacation.

I hope you have vacation days left and DEEEEEP pockets. Or you live in the Northeast, because you will be spending lots of money on flights, train tickets, etc in addition to taking lots of days off for interviews.

Just out of curiousity, did you visit a lot of these schools prior to applying?

Unfortunately I didnt visit schools. My GMAT score was not very high, so I applied to as many schools as I could to compensate for that. My pockets are actually quite shallow. But like everyone else on this thread, I see this as an investment into my future. I cant be penny wise and pound foolish.

As for the vacation days, my current job is a finance rotational program. As a result, I have a new boss every 6 months. Fortunately for me, they do a very bad job with tracking vacation days.

Good luck with everything. Just as a suggestion, when interview invites start rolling in, make sure you try to schedule them back-to-back or closer together so you can save a bit of money and time on the traveling. So cheetah, have you made your decision? Is it going to be Booth?

Booth has to choose me first. I have my interview in two weeks, so hopefully that furthers my cause with them. If I get the admit, I have no clue which school I'd choose (between Booth and Kellogg). Out of the four schools I applied to I never bothered to pick a first choice. I just figure I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
