Hi all,

I wanted to offer an update to all waitlisters on the Consortium thread. I received a very nice message from a current student at Darden and apparently our cries were heard! Today, Darden posted this on their blog: https://blogs.darden.virginia.edu/admiss ... -waitlist/

Additionally, Casey assures me that Consortium applicants were in fact accepted in the first round; so I guess that means some of us have gaps in our applications that can (hopefully) be addressed. I'm still hoping that we at least have a lurker out there that can identify themselves as one of the lucky few who were accepted so we can get at least one Darden admit on gmatclub, but I'm sure we will see many more in Round 2.

Finally, I just want to that the responsiveness of the Darden students for getting on top of this and getting some answers for those of us that are on the waitlist. It would also seem that Darden is, in fact concerned about yield (and this is not a bad thing by any means)... that understood, if Darden is your NUMBER ONE choice, please by all means let them know and it may increase the likelyhood of you being taken off the waitlist.

I'll second that Senator. I just found out one of the guys I met at Darden's Diversity Weekend was also admitted. So I guess it is a real waiting list... and not our original conspiracy theory.

Chiming in on the GMAT... I think the 80/80 split is ideal (especially for quant) but of you can display proficiency in your job or classes you took, and did well in, in undergrad on a quantitative level the math portion on your GMAT will not matter as much.

I'm not advising you don't take the retake as seriously but rest assured if you do have the above it can help blunt a less than stellar GMAT quant score.

Good luck! Make sure to let us know how it goes. I'm going for the consortium interview day and BBSA conference Feb 17-18th. I had lots of fun for the diversity weekend, so hopefully this trip will be a good time as well. Did anyone else choose the consortium interview day?

Also, I have my Haas interview on Super Saturday (2/4) - has anyone done a regular interview? Do you have any feedback?

Did anybody else receive their login from Cornell? Still awaiting for my invite. Losing my mind :)

Weird thing... I JUST barely received my log in today,
But my invite came two days ago,

I don't know if there is a rhyme or reason to when the log in info is sent, but this does mean that Johnson may be looking at your application right now, and may choose to invite you even if you haven't heard anything yet.

Consortium weekend at cornell is still 2 weeks out, so I'm sure you'll hear something soon.
Crossing our fingers for you man, hang in there!

Pardon my ignorance, but I have never heard of this Consortium weekend at Cornell.

What is it? Only thing I know is that for Cornell, decision date will be on mid to late March (I am assuming we are consolidated with R3 applicants.)
Do they plan to release decisions for Consortium applicants ahead of the rest? In 2 weeks? :o

i didn't know there was a consortium weekend either! i'm interviewing on february 3rd... but that's only because they told me i needed to schedule my interview within 2 weeks.

Mooze, you're not lying... I am struggling! I'm trying to maintain some perspective being a RD2 applicant, but I'm about to thumb a hole in my cell phone as frequently as have been checking my email. On the haas thread I see Haas' rd2 apps (I believe cgsm apps align with their rd3 or their own private grouping) are just now getting invites to supersaturday. I think we have about 2 weeks before panic should creep in. I could be wrong.

Silent watcher for several months. Got a Tepper & Ross invite. Will be doing Ross interview with alum off campus.

Haven't heard from Darden and Anderson either.

Do they ever send invites on weekends? My first and only invite from Consortium came from Indiana and it was like 8 days after I submitted my application. No word ever since.

I think I may already be a ding (with no interview) for Cornell and Yale, but I still want to hear from UCLA and Darden :)

Good luck at Yale man (I think you are going in the next couple days). I had a nice visit Thursday, found everyone to be very welcoming and thought the interview was low-pressure and positive, but informative. Wish you all the best.

Look forward to hearing your experience, and then waiting a month to hear the news. Also - got a Booth invite! Hoping the 1/2 sorts of odds for these interviews will shake out positively for one of these.

How weird is this-

I received an email from the Consortium this morning that my applications have been forwarded to my schools. But I had already received an email from Marshall early last week that they received my application from the Consortium.

Not sure what this means. Is it worth investigating?

According to previous posts I've read, Tuck doesn't sent confirmation until a week before they release their decisions.

I have heard that they do care how you rank them, though.

I wouldn't stress over it. It may be that something took a while to arrive/match with your application (ie, official gmat scores). You have confirmation that it's all good, so don't worry.

Does anybody have a sense of whether Haas and Darden are sensitive to rankings? I ranked Haas 2nd, and Darden 3rd. I ranked Ross 4th but they interviewed me anyway. I ranked Yale dead last (5th),..and from what I hear they're sensitive to it,..so i'm pretty sure i'm toast w/ them. Thankfully, I ranked Tuck #1 and I heard they're also sensitive to rankings.

But haven't heard anything about Darden and Haas regarding their ranking sensitivity.

if you really want to go to Tuck, I recommend a student initiated interview - deadline is tomorrow but maybe will extend to around the 13th per other invites? quite a few consortium applicants have gone the self-initiated route
