All the best everybody. This is one long week and the wait is unbearable! I know everyone must be feeling this way. Lets just have faith in the adcom and their process and hope everything works out.

For accepted people, will calls start rolling out on Thursday itself?

Yes, calls will start going out on Thursday. Someone earlier in the thread said they began making calls around 12pm EST on Thursday last year and calls continued to go out until Friday around 3 pm.

To repeat my earlier question, does anyone how its done for international students? Do we also get calls considering the time zone problem? Or should we just wait for mails?

To answer your earlier question, you get a phone call, just like every other admitted student, so long as your provided your relevant country code information and phone number

Any idea how many offer Tuck make in EA round?? Class size is 250-260 students... So I am guessing 60-80 offers.

I am far from an expert on this, but given their yield and the supposed slight preference given to EA candidates, I would guess they make ~130-160 offers. This is assuming they make about 500 total offers between the 4 different rounds. Obviously the strength of the individual candidates in EA could move this number up or down.

Thoughts?

Your number seems fair...

In all honesty I have no idea either...I hear alot that twice as many apps are typically received in the 2nd rd, vs. the 1st...but tuck really has 4 rounds...so it's tougher to guess the distribution, apply the yield, and back into an estimate of acceptances...

I would expect EA to have a greater yield than other rounds...maybe 70-80%?...so assuming that...I think an estimate of 100-130 EA offers seems reasonable...

(This is me licking my finger, and holding it up in the wind...)

I argree.

BWeek had Tuck's yield at 50% which means that Tuck needs to give around 520 offers for all 4 rounds, so around 160 offers sounds right.

I think you are in the right ballpark. According to Poets and Quants, Tuck made roughly 500 offers out of 2744 applicants last year. Assume that about 1/3 of offers come from EA, that gives you roughly 150. What will be interesting to see next year is the change in the number of applicants. The trend has been a decreasing one, but Tuck actually saw a 7.5% increase last year. I think that its new ranking of #1 in The Economist may only increase the number of applicants further.

I have yet to see/hear a breakdown of applications between the 4 rounds at Tuck. Probably something that the AdCom doesn't want to make public.

Most of us have heard that as well (that January has the majority of applications). It's a little different than HSW, which probably see an equal split between rounds 1 and 2. The difference is probably due to that fact for a lot of talented people applying to HSW, Tuck is viewed as a backup plan.

I think the split between the 4 rounds would be something like this--Highest number of applications in Jan/R2 round, Lowest in April/R3, almost the same volume in Nov/R1 and EA rounds, but the yield of EA should probably be more than R1, can't say the same for R2.
May be as Tuck receives more applications in R2 more number of offers are made in this round as compared to April and Nov rounds. I'm guessing the number of offers should almost be the same for EA & Jan rounds.

Hey Folks,

I'm planning on applying to Tuck this January, but have been unable to schedule an interview because I just started my new job, have multiple ongoing projects and cannot afford to take the time off. Does that automatically put me at a disadvantage? I really want to apply, but if my chances are ruined, I'll focus my efforts elsewhere. I'd really appreciate any input you have.

Thanks!

If you can make it I'd strongly recommend it. Tuck is huge on fit; and not going to visit is generally considered a no-no unless you are an international, working abroad or on active duty military. Depending on how you approach them though they may invite you to interview or possibly you could setup a skype interview? It's worth a try.

I really would like to visit and will do whatever I can to make that happen. Does anyone know of any statistics on Tuck interview invites?
