Hi Bruno,

I hope that you're well. Could you please help me evaluate my chances for GLIM PGPM? My profile is as follows.

10th: 92.46
12th: 84.17
BE CS (Mumbai University): 66% aggregate without any backlogs.
Work ex: 5 Years by April 2021 as a .net developer.

Extra curricular:
College fest organization committees
District level Football and Basket ball.
Involved in my workplace's initiatives in terms of improving access to education for the less fortunate.
Active contributor to an international community in terms of mental health initiatives.

My GMAT is within two weeks and I've applied for Round 1.

Also, what kind of GMAT score would be required to get in with this profile?

Thanks a lot for your time and consideration

Hi Ashish,

With your profile, I would suggest aiming for 600+. Also since you have a work experience of nearly 5 years, I would recommend showcasing some of your professional initiatives, learnings or achievements during this period. Since the deadline has passed for Cycle 1, I hope you have detailed your achievements generously and judiciously in your application and Essay. If you're shortlisted for the interview, make a list of all initiatives and achievements, recall all minute details such as challenges you faced and how you navigated your way through, and build ample talking points for your interview. Also make a note of how you have benefited your team/department/organization in any way through your efforts.
All the best.

Hi Bruno

If someone gets selected for interview via Profile based call, then what eligible scores are they supposed to submit in CAT/GMAT to confirm admission post interview?

Also what are the cutoffs for CAT/GMAT for Gurgaon and chennai campus?

Eligible scores include: GMAT taken after Jan 2018, CAT taken in 2019/20, and XAT and CMAT taken in 2020/21 for PGPM.
Now for the profile based call, if you're shortlisted for the interview, you can submit the latest score that you get in your fresh attempt, if that is higher. Or if your previous score is higher, you can submit that. The point is, within the years and tests specified above, we consider only the best score. Therefore, if you've taken 4 different tests at different times within the eligibility period, submit the best one.

Also, we don't have the concept of cut-offs as a business school, let alone for individual campuses. For safety's sake we recommend 600+ in GMAT, 85+ in CAT/XAT and 95+ in CMAT because this is where most of our students ultimately come from. But we do shortlist exceptional applicants with slightly lower scores if they have a great overall profile. Again, the margin would be about 50 points in GMAT or 5 percentiles in the other tests (2-3 in case of CMAT), all based on relative complexity of the tests. Beyond that, we usually don't find profiles that are promising enough.

Hey Bruno

What documents do people working in family business need to upload for Current Employer/payslip/offer letter section?

Reply awaited
Thanks!

Usually the documents required are:
A: Certificate of Incorporation from the MCA or equivalent government issued documents as a proof of the existence of the business
B: Proof of income such as payslips, salary certificates or bank statements which show compensation being deposited in your account on a timely basis
C: A service certificate from the proprietor stating your joining date and tenure served so far, designation(s) held and role(s) performed

I have sent you the contact information of a senior admissions official. He would be able to guide you with specific details of these requirements.

Hi Bruno,

I have a query regarding the AWT process that is conducted as a part of selection criteria for PGPM course.
Is it a normal essay writing related to a current or general topic or is it something related to analytical argument reasoning that we have to do in AWA section of GMAT ? If possible, could you please share a sample example. That would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance.

The topics are mostly current and open ended. While the question may not be framed in a detailed manner like the AWA, the answer should reflect an unbiased analysis of the topic provided, listing of facts (approximate would do) wherever relevant, and proper justification of your stance.
It basically tests your general awareness, reasoning and written communication skills. Sometimes some questions may also not depend on any current topic, but something more personal (not private), which would give us an idea about your thought process and approach in terms of thinking like a leader or something on those lines.

One of the questions which was previously used and retired was "What are your suggestions on improving the Air Quality Index of Delhi NCR and surrounding cities." Topics could be based on anything - politics, economic policies, the pandemic, social trends, industry trends, technology, environment. We certainly won't have topics based on entertainment.

Hi Ashish,

This includes both, profile-based and profile-based with scores.
In case you haven't been called, you can still submit your scores once you have given your GMAT and be considered for Cycle 2.

Hi Bruno

Faced issue while submitting AWT on application portal (multiple times)
Hence mailed the Essay at 8:46 PM to Great Lakes admissions team

Until 8:45 PM- the proposed AWT completion time (the submit button did not work)
As discussed in Zoom call with the invigilator of Great Lakes , Mailed the AWT then and there

How will the mails be checked across the application numbers?

Thanks

Hi Shikha,

Even though the submit button did not work, due to a glitch, the essays were auto-saved against your applications. Which is as good as submitted.
As a backup, emails were requested from those who couldn't submit. The invigilator must have asked you to mention your application number in the subject line of the email. Once we've tallied all submissions (email and online), we'll send acknowledgements to those who appeared for the AWT.

Hi Shashank,

Cycle 3 will depend on acceptances and availability of seats. For now only 2 cycles are certain.

Thank you, Also had one more question regarding gmat score submission. For cycle 2 - can I take the gmat before Jan 31st 2021 or the gmat needs to be taken before 10th January 2021 ?
Also is there a tentative date as to when the PGPM program will start. Was just curious about the starting and ending dates of the program
