Anyone else who got interviews at HBS notice the "update" section is gone in the portal?. Is the only "confirmation" of the interview registration that email we got right after we signed up?

To those who are interviewing - have any of you been matched with anyone for AlumniChat yet? I'm afraid I missed the deadline by an hour, so not sure if I'll be able to participate

Unassailable1991, I guess they should reach out to HBS for a decision. I think everyone got some kind of decision last week.

Did they check the account portal?

or spam folder maybe?

I don’t Michelesaragat,

I also don’t think Harvard gave out any "Further consideration" decision last year. So, I am not sure

I have had a number of Round 1 clients get rolled to Round 2 over the past few years, but I don't have any stats on how many they do this to overall and how many ultimately get in. It's a fairly new "option" they've been wielding recently.

I can say that more than half of my client who this happened to ultimately ended up getting in (some continued to be waitlisted PAST Round 2 decisions, however) but because the numbers I work with per round are in the single digits, it's just not statistically significant.

My advice is to not drive yourself crazy worrying or wondering about the stats as there's nothing you can do about that, but rather try to continue doing things that would strengthen your profile in the time between now and when they'll let you upload a short "update statement."

Best of luck!

My first thought here was that maybe something in his applicant wasn't actually complete, so he wasn't counted in Round 1.

Did he get an email confirming his app was in and that he was a part of Round 1 officially?

Did his recommenders get their letters in on time?

Hi all,

I was deferred from R1 to R2 under "further consideration". Does anyone have any insights into whether you can handicap how an applicant waitlisted at HBS stacks up at say Wharton, Columbia or other M7 schools? I know it is not a perfect science, but wondering if being waitlisted at HBS means your chances at Columbia are relatively good.

Also wondering some general stats, so any insight on the following would be helpful:
- % invited to interview R1, % rejected, % under Further Consideration
- % FC invited to interview R2, % accepted
