Indian, overrepresented, computer science - work exp of 7.5 years with major projects and promotions + gmat score of 750, decent college exp - college fest organiser, dramatics, debates all that shenanigan -> how are my chance for HBS, I mean should i even apply or it’s not worth trying?
I want to tell you a little exercise you’ll learn in i-lab at HBS if you get in, before you apply. As HBS has provided need based application waiver, you anyhow lose nothing if you apply but here’s how you should do a Validation check- in the past 3-4 years, look at profiles from all the HBS admits (Use Linkedin fliters by country and industry and School) Look into their scores- most of the people have those on the profile. Apply the analysis on the odds of people who actually get in. I get a lot of deluded people who basically have a same profile as a person with a higher GMAT, a usual (as I call it), and their GMAT is nearly 600 and they expect to be at HBS. Simple statement- if someone has a similar career progression as you and has had a higher GMAT (if there are a bunch of those applicants), the odds are that the other person will get in. (Assuming the other person is not a massive screw up in essays- even if he is, it’s still highly unlikely that the other person will get in).
I did the Linkedin filter and didn't find a single person outside of MBB or PE in my pool (Indian male). Was very disheartening
